A Rose with thorns

Fragrance dedicated to the iconic figure of Amy Winehouse.
About her hypnotic voice, a gift from her, her sweet and tormented personality, which will mark her throughout her short life.
An opening where I immediately feel the Rose, flanked by fruit and therefore sweet, very pleasant. Her boozy and slightly leathery notes then give her that hidden aspect of Amy's personality, which she suffered so much.
A fragrance that I really like and ended up on my wishlist, truly wonderful, beautiful and delicate like a rose, but surrounded by thorns.
I want to quote the words of one of the most beautiful songs in my opinion by this artist, "Stronger than me", with a heart full of gratitude for having given us, even if for a short time, the beauty of her voice and her music.
“You should be stronger than me
You have been here seven years longer than me
Don't you know? You were supposed to be the man
Not pale in comparison to who you think I am

A Great Peachy, Boozy Rose

My personal favorite from the brand of Jusbox, Siren & Sailors opens with a bright, sweet peach and rose combination that has a certain dark texture to it. As it dries down, the peach and rose give way to that "dark texture:" a rich combination of rum, vanilla, and suede. This fragrance lasts pretty much the whole day on my skin. It also projects very well, making itself known by at least two arm-lengths away from the wearer.

It's seductive, it's playful, and I think it's a great encapsulation of Amy Winehouse.

Boozy rose

It opens with a rose wrapped in luscious, ripe fruit — sweet, but never overdone. From those sun-soaked fruity notes, especially the velvety peach, the rose petal slowly emerges. It feels like it has been kissed by drops of sugary rum, almost caramelized, but the rising rose keeps everything beautifully balanced and never cloying. I can’t stop smelling my hand.

It is at this time that the base, still a bit hazy at the onset, anchors with a soft, plush leather. Patchouli weaves itself into white musk to exude refinement and achieve a perfectly measured harmony.

The Harley Quinn of Fragrances

This scent sneaked its way into my heart directly through my nose. The sillage is exciting with a lasting impression. The young Harley Q. among the fragrance notes begins fresh, citrusy, fruity, and truly pleasant, like just having taken a shower with a light sweetness. A candy then? The sweetness is like the first 15 seconds of Hubba Bubba, you become addicted because your sensory organs start to escalate.

Just this part, especially the sweetness, already has a slight addictive factor, okay Harley Quinn, you have my attention. From Sweet & Playful, the fragrance shifts into a subtle whisky/rum direction with a slightly woody undertone. Smells good! I like it.. And then it comes.. the soft transition, a bouquet full of beautiful pink roses. Soft roses, not a run-of-the-mill rose that you’ve dug up from the past, rather young and fresh.

And this fragrance has staying power, I had a piece of fabric sprayed at my trusted perfumery 3 weeks ago. What can I say? Since then, Harley has been living here. Definitely something new & rare.

My First Niche Fragrance

Siren&Sailors was one of my first niche fragrances. I bought it in a beautiful perfumery in Rome. There, the salesperson explained to me that the scent is dedicated to Amy Winehouse.
By now, I have already purchased my second bottle and I love the fragrance just as much as on the first day.
Unfortunately, it is no longer so easy to obtain. Rose of No Man’s Land by Byredo could be a good alternative, but it lacks the sweetness that is so pleasant and fitting in Siren&Sailors. A boozy note is also clearly noticeable, and for a moment I thought that the scent was the rosy counterpart to Angels Share.

Longevity and sillage are exceptionally good, and the fragrance is an absolute compliment magnet, all in all a high performer. The bottles of the brand all look similar. The caps are supposed to be vinyl records, and each fragrance is dedicated to a musician/band.
The price is reasonable for the performance.
