The Tailor of Old Bond Street
I had not tried a single fragrance from them until now, even though I have been wet shaving for quite some time. At least, I cannot remember any scent. A big mistake, as it turned out today. Such traditional houses should always be given a chance; after all, they have been around for a long time, and if they were truly bad, they would probably have disappeared from the market long ago. "Mr. Taylor" made me doubt a little at first. After receiving it, I briefly sniffed the opened bottle but smelled almost nothing. However, after shaving today, I was genuinely impressed. A very fine and classic scent, worthy of a gentleman. Fresh and green at the beginning, it develops into a woodier and powdery fragrance with a few floral accents and a lovely mossy note. The freshness fades, but the green remains. But it's not just the scent that is great; the skincare is excellent too. Silky soft powdered skin. A wonderful little water that will surely be complemented by more fragrances from this brand soon.

Yes, of course, it’s a tacky „English Gentleman“, Sir!
I certainly do not whisper any illuminating masterfully graceful proclamation into the room when I debut to record that the choice of a perfume inherently involves subjectively disposed attributes playing a fundamental role. Alongside skin type, individual sweat, any nostalgic deviations, et cetera, one’s own personality tends to rise as the decisive factor in rerum natura. Thus, one’s own taste postulates a nonchalant often indecent relevance from country to country! Or as my good old friend Curtie used to say: “Tastes and slaps are different.” What I enjoy smelling may disturb someone else. Therefore, I think that when considering whether and how generously one uses a particular scent, it is an expression of consideration, but of course also a matter of occasion and intention, how benevolently the distinguished man seeks to transport his presumably exclusive bouquet over the olfactory threshold of omnipresent or alternating receptors.

After this epically meandering prologue, now to the actual subject: Taylor of Old Bond Street, the old English family business, still manages to produce with the same care and dedication as it did more than 100 years ago. The product range includes luxurious and creative care and shaving products, the quality of which is the highest good of Taylor of Old Bond Street.

"Mr. Taylor After Shave Lotion" is a fresh and traditional aftershave with notable durability and performance. The masterful scent, assimilating noble leathery, mossy accords, is routinely advanced by an established trio demanding respect into a sonorous oeuvre. Oils from cedarwood strike powerfully on the keys. In addition, a spirited patchouli fiddles alongside a rhythmic double bass in the form of the mustachioed Lavandin Grosso. A stylish little water with proven good care effects. I like this reliable servant, correct suit, bottle like pinstripes, discreet, unobtrusive, but always there when you need him. It does exactly what it should, burning pleasantly on the skin after shaving. A disinfecting finish like a scrutinizing last look in the mirror, telling you that you can now head out onto the street without hesitation to face any impudent rascal in the general hustle and bustle. The scent of the British shaving icon is timelessly elegant, classic, rather not for every day and certainly not for everyone, gladly for more mature gentlemen on weekends, for certain official occasions, and of course a “must-have” when you pop by for a “flying visit” including an obligatory drink at the legendary “Drones Club” to look for your old buddy Bertie Wooster. ;) - “Sorry. But it’s of course an English Gentleman! Isn‘t it, Jeeves?” - “Sir?”

Epilogue of ingredients: Alcohol denat, aqua (water), parfum (fragrance), isopropyl myristate, benzyl salicylate, citronellol, citral, amyl cinnamal, geraniol, butylphenyl methylpropional, limonene, linalool.
