Looking for an oud wood dupe? Valor Mystique!
Oud Wood Eau de Parfum is simply love for me.
A fragrance that I really appreciate and that I have never got enough of over the years.
Unfortunately, the price is quite high, especially when you consider how poorly it performs.
That's why I've been looking around for alternatives for a while now.
Some were better, others worse.
Until I came across the Valor Mystique.
For me, this is THE oud wood dupe par excellence.
It's funny that hardly anyone talks about it.
What you get here for little money is unbelievable.
About the fragrance :
The start is slightly alcoholic, but this fades very quickly.
You can immediately tell that this is a dupe for Oud Wood.
Smell exactly the same cardamom note as in OW.
Fresh, spicy, masculine, small subtle differences to the original are recognizable, but I couldn't tell the two apart in the air.
Although no oud is specified, I also smell that slightly medicinal, fresh oud note that OW is so well known for.
It becomes slightly warmer and woodier later on due to the amber and woody notes.
It remains a beautiful Oud Wood Dupe until the end.
There is no twist or anything like that here.
You get what you expect.
Performance :
Unfortunately not a strong performer, a bit stronger than the original, but still you should apply a bit more to stand out.
Lasts about 6 hours on my skin.
On clothing 2 days.
Sillage and radiance good in the first hour, then rather moderate and rather weak after the 3rd to 4th hour.
Of course, the fragrance needs to mature.
The perfume is still very new, with Arabs you know that they need time.
When and where and for whom?
Just like OW, more of a men's fragrance.
One that is very suitable for the masses, you can wear it for almost any occasion and at any time of year.
Perfect for work or going out.
I can even imagine wearing it for sports, but of course there are better fragrances for that.
My conclusion :
If Oud Wood is too expensive for you, or if you own a bottle and want to save yourself the expensive juice, you should give this one a try.
For just over 28 € you can spray yourself full without your soul suffering xD
