They have done it.....

They have done it again. Let me start by saying that this is a very unique, fresh, aquatic while being a very mature office fragrance. I really don't have any idea is this a clone, but I have never smelled anything like it. And this is a compliment getting fragrance. The lemon and watermelon note are juicy, the mint is fresh and green and the lavender is smooth. All in All, wonderful fragrance that's cheap but it doesn't smell cheap.

Parfums de Marly Layton only fresher with more mint

hadlaj Azure Velvet is strongly reminiscent of Parfums de Marly Layton, but offers a much fresher, minty note that gives the fragrance more lightness and balance. While Layton is somewhat warmer and sweeter, Azure Velvet scores with a clear freshness that immediately refreshes.

The blend of bergamot, lavender and mint provides a lively opening. The floral and fruity heart complements the fragrance wonderfully without being too dominant. In the base, woody and powdery notes round off the whole and give the fragrance depth and consistency.

For me, Azure Velvet is a successful interpretation that picks up on the style of Layton, but appears more modern and lighter thanks to the minty freshness. Ideal for anyone looking for elegance with a fresh note that is not too overpowering.

A great fragrance that convinces with a fair price-performance ratio.

The fresher Layton

I wasn't quite sure whether the notes really resembled Layton.
At first, it didn't immediately remind me of the PdM either.
But after a short time I just thought wow, it really resembles Layton and it's also really good.
In my opinion, it's better than Détour Noir because it's less synthetic.

But is it a 1:1 dupe?
I would say no, Azure Velvet is fresher and more citrusy.
I don't know if the notes are right, but I perceive a pleasant powderiness, a vanilla apple note and of course the bergamot, which is not too fresh as you know it from many other fragrances.
It all smells very much like Layton, even if the notes are completely different.
Incense is also listed, but you shouldn't let that put you off, you don't notice anything like that.
The woody notes are not really too prominent either.

The fragrance remains powdery, sweet and at the same time fresh and slightly fruity until the end.

The performance is better than expected, on a par with Détour Noir, i.e. neither strong nor weak, but still above average.

Unisex yes, but with a tendency towards masculine (M65%/35%W).

My conclusion: As my Détour Noir is coming to an end, I will treat myself to the Khadlaj sooner or later.
I think it's just great.
Actually, I never advise blind purchases, but you can't go wrong with this one.
A super mass-market fragrance that almost everyone will find pleasant.
