My first coffee fragrance
Khadlaj Caffé Latte is my first, and probably last, café perfume. That's not because the fragrance is bad, quite the opposite in fact. It's so good that I'm convinced I don't even need another one.
First of all: I don't drink coffee and I don't find the smell of coffee pleasant either, it's too dark, heavy and strong.
However, Caffé Latte has completely allayed my fears. I ordered it blind anyway and it's a bomb!
It starts with coffee and is a little strong in the first few seconds, but that changes very quickly
To cut a long story short - it smells like a coffee latte with some ice cream, amaretto, caramel and an incredibly delicious cinnamon cookie that you can get at a good Italian restaurant. It also tastes a bit like a cappuccino. This combination makes the coffee creamy and milky, which makes the aroma wonderfully pleasant. The vanilla gives it warmth, which I think goes in the direction of "by Killians Angel Share".
I am generally a huge gourmand fan and this fragrance is a clear 10/10 for me. I have never tested Mancera's Amore Caffé, but many say that it is inspired by it and clones it, which is quite obvious when you look at the notes.
I had wavered between this and Zimaya's Coco Tiramisu the whole time, but ultimately decided on Khadlaj's version because it is supposed to be less coffee-heavy and a little more almondy. So if, like me, you're not a huge coffee fan but are looking for a wonderful, creamy, sweet and beautifully warm fragrance, I can recommend this one 100%. As I said, the coffee is not too strong, but a finely tuned nuance, like incense in perfumes, only dark and not pungent. The fragrance is absolutely unisex, some aspects are a little feminine, some a little masculine - it's just super balanced.
What do I think the perfume is missing? Nothing! It lasts a super long time, the projection is not overwhelming - it's simply a super cuddly fragrance - and the notes are perfectly balanced / I wouldn't change anything. You can definitely layer it really well. If you want to get a real punch out of it, then with more vanilla and even darker, such as with TF's Tobacco Vanilla. Rum etc. I wouldn't necessarily add it, the amaretto makes it a bit boozy, cognac would then stand out all the more.
So: don't shy away from the coffee (if you don't like coffee that much) and go for it, if only to cuddle up.
