Mistress of Camouflage
Tuberose - also my Nardo - is one of my favorite flowers. Moreover, tuberose is extremely precious and expensive (info on this in my comment on Tubéreuse 2 Virginale). So, of course, I love to test anything that claims to feature tuberose.
In the case of DOLCE TUBEROSE 43, I am somewhat confused. The opening is voluminous, opulent, lush, and nearly overwhelming pure tuberose!
But it develops. The scent becomes sweet (a bit too sweet for my taste) and softer, with a clear influence of heliotrope and ylang-ylang noticeable here.
However, after a while, an intrusiveness emerges that reveals a somewhat artificial note, and the sweetness is even perceptible in taste - like a kind of coating on the tongue. I have the impression that the fragrance is meant to be sustained by this artificial note. By this point, Dolce Tuberose 43 becomes unpleasant for me. This note is a headache factor, so Dolce Tuberose is not a choice for me.
Very unfortunate, because this intrusive note spoils the entire fragrance and the olfactory impression, which could essentially be beautiful.
After just three hours, Dolce Tuberose 43 runs out of steam, leaving only a sweet, artificial note on the skin, thankfully only weakly perceptible. Camouflage with tuberose, so to speak, for a ton of sweet, hot air!
Dear gentlemen of Krigler: Chemistry in perfume - okay, we know that this is mostly used. But sometimes less is indeed more! In this case, definitely!
