Herbs in the Ruins without Arches
First, I read FranFan's comment and stumbled upon the explanation of the origin of the name "Arc" L'Arc. Karnak and arches? I ran to our exhibition poster: "Prussia on the Nile," where the ruins of Karnak are depicted in the 19th century and drawn in the state they were in when someone from a German expedition meticulously sketched them there. The then-modern cameras could not withstand the climate on the Nile. Drawings can often depict reality more authentically than photos, as is the case here.
These ruins look more like a further developed and very refined construction of Stonehenge. There are no arches, only columns with cross stones placed on them, artistically designed and smoothly finished, beautiful columns. Everything is covered with engraved hieroglyphs and people depicted in profile in the style of that time. Everything is in decay; tilted and broken columns, fallen stone blocks. And in the midst of it, to show the size relations, a small group of people is sketched, half sitting and leaning against the huge fallen stone blocks. No arches, nowhere.
So much for "Karnak" in the 19th century, now to "Aventure":
I have never smelled a scent like this before. At first, I smell a mixture of mandarin and sandalwood, strange and not unpleasant. Then a fruity acidity like that of unripe fruit mixes in. This acidity transforms into a citrusy one after about 20 minutes. I actually expected a foul-smelling jasmine. But I smell nothing of the sort, no jasmine at all. Or one that I do not know. "Aventure" has a peculiar scent. Something herbal is present, tarragon, possibly coriander leaves, maybe both could be it.
The L'Arc fragrances are not complicated; this one also has a short development for me and then stands: slightly fruity-woody and citrusy, bitter, somewhat herbal, without sweetness, without resinous notes. Musk or vanilla do not come through for me. It could be one of the herbal scents.
Overall, a subtle fragrance that, despite its strange scent mixture, does not trigger a washing impulse for me. The longevity is okay.
"Aventure" is a wearable spring and summer scent for those who like such sour herbal fragrances without sweetness, in my opinion. Men could also at least test this scent.
