By the light of the orange oud moon
Not much can be determined about the perfume label L'Arc. According to my little research, it is apparently a French perfume house from Grasse, which is, however, strongly represented in the Arabic world.
The homepage makes reference to a certain Maître de Claude, who is probably active in the fields of architecture, the arts and as a perfumer, and who is inspired by fragrances on his travels.

For "Argentium - Halo de Lune", Havana, among others, is the lynchpin of inspiration for this creation. The story is a little bit crude and constructed, but I will generously overlook that.

Accordingly, I would focus more on facts, because this fragrance has potential. Those who might shy away from oud can quickly be calmed down again, as we are dealing with a rather lithe representative of eagle wood, which shows its warm woody side.

More dominant but not too intense is the orange in the foreground, which is mixed with nutmeg, cardamom and a little saffron and is finely spicy and rather a little tart. There might even be a hint of rum or even Grand Marnier. If, on the other hand, you prefer the lusciously tangy-sweet version of the citrus fruit, you will probably be disappointed.

Towards the end, it becomes a little drier and more noble with more woody notes, which puts "Argentium - Halo de Lune" in the same category as the oriental-spicy woody scents with a warm, orangey touch. I really like that very much, but I have to say that I like it even more intense when sprayed in the air. There it conveys more finesse and depth than on the skin, where it tends to be slightly dull. Maybe it is also due to me, but this discrepancy has struck me here more than with other fragrances.

All in all well done, even if the origin and the story behind it seem a bit nebulous. I also think that although there are some creations with orange and oud, they are unlikely to be in this congenially successful combination.

Opens citrusy, dark woody, aromatic; but as it dries, the warm spices & amber begin to take over with not much else. Masculine, fall-winter.
