Easy to Decipher
"Escapade - Vanille des Îlles" I judge as a minimalist and quite delicate fragrance. The sillage is weak but noticeable. How should I express this? On one hand, there is little to smell in my nose and around me, on the skin a slightly green, more white floral scent. But the whole room smells intensely of it when I re-enter. Even my husband thinks it smells wonderful like flowers when he comes into the room. And he usually doesn't notice much.
Since I had issues with this fragrance, I waited a bit to describe it in the technical problems thread. Now I'm back to focusing on the scent, and it hasn't changed.
"Escapade" starts with a persimmon scent, that is, the scent of peach kernels, somewhat bitter, almond-like but harsher. Here, I already detect a very restrained vanilla. I like that already.
Fruit scents cannot be created naturally; that must be clear. Therefore, the aroma of fruit scents is determined by the will of the perfumer and the laboratory.
"Escapade" is for me one of the beautiful fruity scents at the beginning.
To my delight, I only smell something like peach with osmanthus at first. Then, to my surprise, a white floral mixture follows, not too overpowering, minimally animalistic. Then I can very subtly perceive a slightly green rose scent.
Then the fragrance slowly departs from my nose's range. But my husband insists that it still smells very nice. I still smell the mentioned flowers, slightly creamy due to the musk. For me, now somewhat aquatic, I find "Escapade" a pleasant floral scent, fragrant, bright, and light green with a slightly almond note, not intrusive, easy to decipher.
It is a purely feminine fragrance. The longevity is good. Whether the price-performance ratio is justified, I cannot judge.

What is this?!
What did I do to deserve this,
That this bottle greets me so stupidly?
Why didn’t you at least warn me?
For a cheap sweet-floral-fruity-vanilla-musk-laden night,
I might not have said anything.
I would have been shocked,
But I probably would have understood it.
But you went straight for the expensive niche.

So my sweet:

You had the big talk with me. Elegant, exquisite, extraordinary, blah blah blah.

And what was it?

Cheap, floral, fruity sweetness.

Is that supposed to be peach?

With that synthetic smell, I’d say it could pass for blackcurrants.

You come across as ordinary as a fashion scent from the bargain bin at the discount store.

Your vanilla-musk combination has been annoying me for 6 hours now.

It’s high time for you to fade away.

Vanilla hides the peach ...
I think it is a beautiful scent, but is it a candidate for purchase?

Probably not. I somehow expected more; it’s not a cheap fragrance, and somehow it lacks that certain extra, the note that triggers an "explosion" in the nose and makes you know it’s something special.

It’s a light vanilla scent, but I can hardly smell the peach at all; it must really be the smallest fragrance component, which is a shame because I was actually looking forward to it. The rose also seems to have received a very small part, while vanilla and musk have claimed the largest space.

There is a very light, fine fruity note present, but the most prominent is really the lightly powdery vanilla. Sometimes a tiny fresh hint tries to push its way in, but the vanilla doesn’t really allow that, although the hints are there.

It’s a lovely scent, but unfortunately not a candidate for purchase for me.

Oh, by the way, the scent lasts about 4-5 hours on me.

I think there will be some who will love this, as it is definitely not a cheap-smelling vanilla, so it shouldn’t be compared to a very inexpensive fragrance, but I just feel like something is missing ;-)

Well, I guess I have a spoiled nose ;-)
