Sweet, sweet, syrupy sweet
On the wrist, in the cool air: fruity sweet syrup, candy, soda. Not harsh or synthetic at all, but edges up to the line of cloying. It smells *nice* but I'm glad it isn't stronger.
On the chest, warm, inside my shirt: some spice and musk notes come out. Tucked away under the fruit-candy fluff. More tempered and balanced.
L'arc makes excellent, high quality perfumes; I'm still discovering which ones work on me (Chrysalide, Argentium) and which don't (Aventure). This one would be perfect on someone else! I might use the remainder of this decant on my laundry, though.

Very sweet juicy laundry smell
This is quite a unique fragrance that also kind of smells generic. A juxtaposition I know, this perfume is very sweet. The sweetness in this smells like a generic sweet perfume from something like Victoria secret/ bath and body works. However, the laundry like white florals and the mild tangerine make this more unique. I had to double take what I was smelling. If you like a good laundry scent I would recommend trying this perfume. It’s a bit of a confusing perfume but it just works. You must like a sweet girly perfume to enjoy this one. I think it could end up being addictive as it’s so feminine

Soda, Raspberry Candies, Little Girl Lipstick?
When I received the parcel from L'Arc today and unpacked it to check if everything had arrived well, I next removed the caps and carefully sniffed them. I thought, without knowing anything about the scents, that "Balade" could be the most beautiful fragrance.
Then, after showering, I applied it to the back of my hand. Since I couldn't believe what I was smelling, I checked one wrist to see if there were any remnants of the previously tested fragrances and applied it there as well.
Then I did something else and waited for the development.
What I didn't know: This is supposed to be a fragrance focused on "Tiaré."
I know Tiaré somewhat. It's a lovely scent, although not without heaviness. Well-composed with other ingredients, it can be very enticing.
However, I had quite different, very pleasant scent déjà vus.
So, first, I had the association of raspberry soda for several hours.
It existed when I was a child. And now it is available again in the new federal states. I love soda. Whenever there is some available, I have to order it. But I don't want to smell so squeaky.
Then I thought, second, that "Balade" smelled like the raspberry candies that could be bought individually at the store in the 1950s. They were loosely filled in large candy jars. I think a candy cost 2 pfennigs. We bought them, sucked on them, and then smeared our lips red, which we found wonderful.
And then I remembered, third, that there were little girl lipsticks that we were very eager for; they were bright red and smelled like that too.
It's not that the scent of "Balade" is bad. I just have nice associations with it.
But "Balade" belongs, without alcohol, as a lipstick scent to the Barbie doll cosmetic case.
"Balade" smells of artificial fruit aromas, is not citrusy or woody at all, but squeaky sweet.
Honeysuckle, sandalwood, patchouli? I only smell artificial rose, artificial fruit aromas, artificial floral scents.
I smell them as if they were from the 50s. And even then, they were only found in sweets, as well as in children's lipsticks and little girl perfumes that girls from "richer" families had. We envied them hotly and pressed our noses against the windows of toy stores to look at these toy items for little girls.
Now, towards the end, I smell a bit more vanilla; the artificial floral and fruit aromas are fading.
The longevity is not excessively long, about 3 hours; the sillage is quite noticeable at first but diminishes after 2 hours.
"Balade" is not a fragrance for adult women, nor for teenagers anymore. And I actually think that one shouldn't deny children such things if they desire them. But it's better to occasionally dab a touch of real perfume on their wrist so they don't feel excluded and so they aren't accustomed to such synthetic scents from the start.
So, "Balade" is a fragrance for women who haven't grown up?
50% for the nice memories.

Tiaré under the Dancing Veil
I have also tested the five fragrances in this line.

The only one I like is "Balade". I like it exceptionally well.

Right after spraying, a sea of white flowers, with Tiaré at the forefront. I immediately think of that body and bath oil in the glass bottle with the real flower inside, which turns white when cooled and becomes golden liquid again when warmed: "Monoi Tiaré de Tahiti" - that's what it's called, I believe.

Without delay, the scent blooms on my skin.
It doesn't really have top notes; it reacts directly and immediately to the "essential" or "non-essential" - depending on the perspective of the fragrance.

For the first half hour, I am not so convinced, scent-wise. The Tiaré flower is very prominent and seems to overshadow the other flowers.

But then, behind and around it, a very delicate, soft scent unfolds. Like a fragrant veil dancing over the flower, gently laying itself upon her:
Fine sandalwood and a little (white?) musk.
A mélange with the Tiaré flower unfolds and remains dancing for many hours.
My patchouli-trained nose detects none of it.

In my opinion, a very wearable scent for lovers of South Sea fragrances who enjoy seas of flowers - even those who prefer a slightly milder progression.

Childish scents, cute, from the 50s: raspberry soda - raspberry candies - little girl lipstick - creamy - sweet - nostalgic. Not for me, Grandma!
