Chewy Ripened Figs
To me this is the solution to those who claim that Premier Figuier is too unisex or even masculine leaning (although, I don't find this personally). Premier Figuier Extrême is a bit warmer, a bit more coconut and a bit more sensuously feminine, IMHO. In Premier Figuier Extrême, there is the same crisp green fig leafy start, the nutty woodiness, the delicate neutral almond milky note and then the dense chewy fig fruit and other dried fruit join the winning Fig leaf, fig branches and sandalwood. I don't know what bloom blossom (Genista canariensis) smells like, but I think it lends a critical haylike sweetness that always reminds me of the fullness of late Summer. All with the added sweet chewiness of Premier Figuier Extrême I find this scent is more feminine, sensual and romantic than the original Premier Figuier. The fig trees, I imagine, are less green and herbal and filled with early Summer's blossoms and leaves, no longer naïve. The dry wood now takes a backseat, to the subtle sweetness of dried fruits, coconut and ripe figs. This is never cloying, but seems fuller and more voluptuous than the original. Where Premier Figuier strikes me as a totally unisex, unusual but fine daytime scent Extrême feels more like an evening scent, or at least a Fall or Winter fragrance for me. Extrême is not louder or longer lasting, but rather the notes are more evolved, ripened to their extreme perfection, succulent chewy and ready for the joyful harvest.

Fig Fig!
Today, I chose to test Premier Figuier Extreme. I was curious to see how this fig scent would develop on my skin.

The top note begins with a rather green fig impression, which I attribute to the fig tree leaf. You can also perceive a subtle sweetness. However, it is delicious, but it is not "extreme." When a fragrance carries the label extreme, I expect a bit more body and volume than what is present here.

Slowly, the creaminess combined with the fig increases. The sandalwood subtly wafts in the background, preventing the fig scent from turning into a dessert note. The heart note is really well done.

However, the base turns out to be too bland for me. The fig character completely disappears, leaving behind a half-hearted, muddled accord of dried fruit, coconut, and wood, which can only be perceived with the deepest inhalation.

In the end, the extreme fig turned out to be quite timid and has scampered away from my wrist!

If the extreme fig is acting so shy, how does the regular fig fare?

This perfume is suitable for anyone who likes figs and doesn't mind that it doesn't really smell like fig towards the end.

The Forbidden Fruit of the Garden of Eden
Fresh figs in the south, picked directly from the tree, are a delight that is hard to top.
How wonderful it is that one doesn't have to travel to southern regions at the moment (which one would of course love to do), but can stock up at the supermarket "around the corner." Even if they don't taste nearly as good, they are wonderfully enjoyable, and the scent evokes a longing for sunny days by the Mediterranean.

It is fitting that a few days ago I received a sample of Premier Figuier from lakshmi (thank you very much!)
Before I dared to test it, I informed myself a bit about this fine fruit and found plenty of interesting information that I had not known before.

Figs are considered a symbol of sensuality; since the apple was not known in the Orient, the Jewish Haggadah emphasizes that the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden was not an apple, but a fig.
Buddha attained the state of "perfect enlightenment" while sitting under a fig tree.
And even the shape of the heart is derived from the fig.

Accordingly, my expectations for the scent were high, with Olivia Giacobetti
wanting to depict not only the ripe fruit but also the tree in its entirety.
She has succeeded well.
I expected much more sweetness and was surprised that PFE starts off green, very green and fresh, with a very subtle sweetness in the background, which I attribute to the broom flower.
The green freshness (or the fresh green?) quickly fades, becoming gentle, harmonious, and soothing through the almond milk, unfolding a beautiful, only slightly perceptible coconut note.
Soft, warm sandalwood joins in, making the scent creamy - powdery.
So far, very nice.
But where is the main actress, the fig? So far, I could not detect a hint of it.
And then, yes then it is suddenly there. It does take some patience before it reveals itself.
The scent indeed transforms into the pleasant aroma of fresh figs, with their fine sweetness, developing an enticing sensuality, just as one would expect from the fruit of the Garden of Eden.
PFE achieves this without being intrusive or "loud," but rather pleasantly measured, harmoniously rounded.
Spraying PFE evokes memories of carefree days in the south by the sea:
Lazing in the shade of the (fig) trees, the crickets chirping, everyday life is soooo far away….. Almost like in the Garden of Eden, where Eve tempted Adam with the apple, no, with the fig! just without the snake :-)
And perhaps the wearer can achieve the state of enlightenment like Buddha through this beautiful scent ;-) (I might as well order a large bottle right away)

PFE is a wonderful scent for spring and summer, which pleasantly surprised me despite its weak longevity and would gladly move in with me.

The Fig Gets a Sunburn Again
Ah, Premier Figuier is a very beautiful fig scent that I really liked. Back when I was testing it, I actually only had some issues with the sillage and longevity, and I wrote that I was looking forward to the Extrême version, hoping that the wonderful scent would last longer.

Before I continue to rave about the fragrance, I am excited to finally hold a sample of the Extrême version in my hands and am very curious about it.

And the best part is that I even have figs (as in fruits) standing next to me this time. My God, they are delicious, even though their scent is weaker than I had thought. No matter, I will now apply the fragrance to my arm and keep biting into the delicious beauties, and yes, for once I mean the tasty fruits and not you ladies :D
And hopefully I won’t confuse my arm with the fruit, so I hopefully won’t bite into my arm :D

The scent:
The opening of the fragrance is quite similar to the "other, non-extreme" scent. Here too, you can smell a wonderful fig that is slightly green and also reminds of Diptyque's Philosykos. I don't know if it's due to the broom, but the scent becomes slightly herbaceous and musty in the background. This doesn’t last long, but I find that the top note smells a bit worse here.
Just a few minutes later, the fragrance develops both light, sweet notes and a wonderful coconut, where everything smells very natural. I might be mistaken, but the coconut in the regular version was softer or you had more of the feeling that it was more like coconut milk; here, however, you can smell a real coconut, which even becomes quite strong later on. I now attribute the sweet notes to dried fruits.
A bit later, the scent is slightly musty, I believe caused by the mentioned, somewhat more intense coconut, and the fig notes are only faintly present. Unfortunately, it seemed to me that the normal version had smelled significantly better.

The sillage and longevity:
So, I don’t notice any significant differences in the projection and therefore say that the scent is just as strong as the normal Figuier, well, maybe a bit stronger. The beginning is strong, but then this scent will only be detectable close to someone.
The longevity is longer here; I get about five to six hours.

The bottle:
I still don’t know what the black bottles from L’Artisan look like in real life (I should go back to Albrecht in Frankfurt, as far as I know, there are some L’Artisans there, maybe I’ll also see the new bottles…), so I will continue to describe the “old” bottle, which is octagonal and has an also octagonal and gold-plated cap.
On the front, there is a narrow label with the name of the fragrance. You can also see a golden fig leaf on the green label. Everything is, as always, very nicely done.

Hm,… even though I tested Premier Figuier in May, it seemed to me that you could smell the figs better in that one. Because the Extrême, despite its name, is not significantly stronger, and the figs themselves seemed weaker to me.

I find that disappointing and also a bit frustrating, as I had expected a more powerful version of a beautiful fragrance. I also found it disappointing that the Extrême smells worse (for me, the musty notes), which I didn’t perceive in the normal Figuier.

And just like with the original scent, it’s as if the fig wants to go on vacation by the sea, but while sunbathing, it gets a sunburn again and shrinks into a sweet-smelling dried fruit :D

This means that this scent fits well for summer and vacation, but is more suitable for everyday use or as a casual fragrance, as it smells a bit too weak for anything else. If you like figs and coconut, you might want to check out this scent. However, I would recommend the normal version even more, as I found the normal one to smell better.

… and I need to go back to the supermarket… because there have been really delicious figs here for a few days. And I’m sure they are all sold out by now… of course, now that mine are slowly running out…

sun-warmed fig
Fig scents generally tend to become very woody and dry on my skin, so I can only wear them when I'm in the mood for something very bitter.
"Premier Figuier Extreme" is a delightful exception - the fig remains clearly a fruit, green yes and rather not "mouthwatering", but gentle and soft and certainly gaining warmth from almond and sandalwood, although these components are not distinctly noticeable to me.
It is more the impression of a sun-warmed fig, still hanging on the tree and passing on the rays of the sun.
A very beautiful, harmonious, and harmonizing composition that has only one drawback: on my skin, it is no longer perceptible after a maximum of four hours.

More dried fig than fresh fig to me due to the sweetness. Creamy, woody base. Quite linear.

First-class fig scent that captures the vibe of Philosykos. It's by the same perfumer! Green, grassy, coconut, beautiful!

Extremely dry, warmer + woodier than the original. The juicy + creamy aspects are missing. Herbal, green, slightly soapy, not sweet. No tropical vibe!

The green fig is definitely noticeable, but in combination with other fruity notes and coconut milk, it never feels overpowering. Good!

Fig & fruits remain vague and imprecise, like behind frosted glass. It somehow smells chemical. Overall impression: hairspray scent for her.

Dry, powdery, quite unsweet, and very subtle fig. Coconut milk is noticeable. Philosykos is clearer, greener, and better!

For me, this is the epitome of a green fragrance. Herbal green plant juice, fig, and in the end coconut milk and lots of sandalwood. More of a summer scent.

I liked the original much better. This fig is too unfruity, too unsweet, too ungreen for me. More bitter and dry-woody-dull.
