Dreck Orchid
LPDO makes, you can't say otherwise, expensive fragrance blockbusters for the small wallet. There's nothing reprehensible about that - still, one shouldn't expect miracles, neither from the people behind the brand nor from the buyers...
"Fleur Noire" is their black orchid, but without the stylish Tom F. losing any sleep over it. A bit wilder, a bit more direct, a bit cheaper, a bit scratchier - yet surprisingly usable for the declared bargain price and just as surprisingly close to the (overpriced?) polarizing original. This black flower takes your breath away and supports your migraine. Jasmine kisses patchouli - and with tongue and all the trimmings. Moist and cheerful, full of sweat and ambition. There's little hidden or whispered here, it's all about business. No daydreaming, just bare facts. More brothel than pajamas, more leather than lightness. It takes space and leads, direction and word. Even Black and Velvet Orchid can take on cheap, annoying traits for me - here the bow is stretched a bit clumsily and awkwardly. Just my two cents.
Bottle: more nice than dupe
Sillage: lush, literally breathtaking
Longevity: 9 hours can be a long time...
Conclusion: greedy and sexy, floral and bitchy, sensual and senile - "Fleur Noire" is a heave-ho fragrance and doesn't come close to the depth and elegance of its original. However, considering the price, one simply can't complain...
