Summer in a Glass

Reminds me of a barbershop, but not in a negative way. Starts quite fresh and lightly floral, also slightly citrusy.

The men among us who have been to the barber and enjoyed having their beard groomed know what I mean when they smell this fragrance for the first time. Smells like aftershave but in a positive sense, clean and fresh.

When I close my eyes and smell the fragrance, I see a bearded man who has just come from the barber on a sunny morning, well-dressed and wearing sunglasses, on his way home to pack his things as he has plans to meet some friends at the pool later.

However, in my opinion, the scent is also unisex, so a woman in a light summer dress with a sun hat and sunglasses, with the same intentions of going to the pool or enjoying an ice cream, can wear this well. ;)

All in all, a great, clean, lightly citrusy-floral summer scent that has a nice woody dry down.

Somehow evokes memories of summer. :)

Garçon Libre

Do you know that feeling? When you just walk into a hair salon? The peculiar scent of hairspray, shampoo, conditioner, chemicals, and fresh hair tonic? Yes? Because that's how LPDO's new creation "Garçon Libre" starts off. This first impression, of course, interpreted freely, shot through my mind after spraying it on. A strange beginning, an overwhelming jumble of synthetic fragrance notes floods the nose and leaves me momentarily perplexed. OK, let's give GL some time.....
After about 10 minutes, the jumble begins to structure itself. You can see where the journey is headed:
I’m going to stick my neck out and claim that I recognize the Hugo Boss DNA (the field bottle since 1995). The influences that LPDO has taken to reinterpret this classic are quite clear to me. Don’t get me wrong, this is not necessarily a dupe, but the fresh-spicy or aromatic-green fragrance direction is the same.
I’ll spare myself the recitation of the fragrance pyramid. ;) Certainly, GL nuances here and there.
However, I think anyone who knows and likes Hugo Boss will also enjoy "Garçon Libre".
A daily and office scent with decent longevity of about 8 hours and moderate sillage (once you overlook the initial ruckus).
By the way, the Hugo Boss advertisement from 1995 featuring model Werner Schreyer (YouTube is your friend :)) fits perfectly with LPDO's chosen perfume name "Garçon Libre" - the message back then was about "having your own mind, realizing your own ideas," so to speak, away from the establishment.
