Clean creamy pistachio with style
Last night, I had a visit from a friend who brought the complete Discovery Set from LPDO for an extensive testing evening. The test includes 26 fragrances from the brand, which by the way all contain a high concentration of fragrance oils and are, in my opinion, of high quality, as far as I can judge.
We started our testing series with the new releases, and the first fragrance Pistachio Bon Bon was an immediate hit, in my opinion one of the best scents from the house.
Right from the first spray, the top notes reveal pistachio, bergamot, peach, raspberry, and cardamom. In my case, the pistachio immediately comes across as pleasantly nutty, not too gourmand. Fruity notes quickly join in, giving the fragrance a youthful fruity freshness. None of the notes dominate or take center stage. I find this fruity nutty lightness very successful.
In the heart, floral notes unfold. White flowers, heliotrope, lily of the valley, violet, and geranium. I don't really perceive the violet, nor the geranium, which I don't particularly like. Here, I especially find the clean, soapy impression that I like so much. The white flowers create a fresh floral atmosphere, making the fragrance feel more floral than expected, which I really like.
In the base, cream, vanilla, caramel, tonka bean, and sandalwood come into play. This sweet base is definitely present, but for me, it remains within limits: The cream and vanilla notes give the fragrance a subtly creamy sweetness, but the sandalwood ensures that it doesn't drift into sticky cotton candy territory. A pistachio scent with style, also wearable beyond the TikTok community.
The fragrance reminds me a lot of "Khair Pistachio | Paris Corner," which I have in my collection.
Similarities to Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33 Eau de Parfum are also present, but I haven't tested that one in a while.
My conclusion after testing on the skin:
I really like this fragrance. It starts with a pleasant, slightly nutty pistachio note that then wonderfully transforms into a clean, floral pistachio soap, before the creamy, not too sweet base slowly fades close to the skin.
The balance between gourmand and freshness works for me, and I'm considering adding another pistachio fragrance to my collection, as the price-performance ratio is also right!
