Where does the woodpecker come from?!
“Mama, can I play with Timmy?” “Who is this Timmy?” “He’s the cool woodworm boy from the neighboring branch.” “What’s so cool about him?” “Mama, he knows everything and he has a window to the outside! Timmy is sooo cool that he can hang out of the window! And...” “Mäxle, I don’t want to hear any of that! It’s a really dumb idea, you know, the woodpecker is lurking out there!” “But Mama, pleeease!” “Only if you promise me to stay away from the window! And don’t be gone long, we’ll eat soon.” “I promise, Mama! What’s for dinner today?” “Hazelnut leaf cream soup, tree bark roulades with peppered wood puree, and for dessert, flambéed wood shavings with vanilla-nut pudding.”…
Later at dinner: “Mama, Timmy said the world is a wooden disc. Is that true?” “Oh Mäxle, what does your Timmy know… The world is a tree with many branches, on which leaves occasionally grow. Day by day, we, decent woodworms, eat our own ways through the wood of dried branches to become beetles after the Great Sleep.” “And Mama…” “Now please stop chattering and chew nicely!”
Late at night: “Mama… Mama!..” “What do you want, Mäxle? *yawn*” “I was just thinking - if our tree is the whole world… Where does the woodpecker come from?!”

No worries - there’s no worm in there :) The scent is very pleasant and harmonious, even though it doesn’t experience any significant development. Only the initially strong pepper subsides over time, but remains clearly perceptible, while the sweetness intensifies towards the end. It’s a mild, green-spicy wood scent, characterized by a strong powdery iris note. Burning wood… I don’t know… at most flambéed. It is subtly and pleasantly smoky, but there’s no campfire to be smelled for miles. The wood feels very light, ground to powder and processed into cream. Overall, a balanced fragrance composition - distinct green (from my perspective, hazelnut leaf, but rather the green, unripe hazelnut itself) is tempered in its bitterness by just the right amount of sweet (not cloyingly sweet) vanilla, which in turn is very flattering, dancing with the aforementioned pepper and smoke. And to my delight, the claim I read somewhere (which also encouraged me to buy it) was confirmed - a little flash of my beloved Epic really does shine through now and then, albeit very muted. Could it be thanks to the pepper or the smoke?
Conclusion: an interesting all-rounder, calm and light. Not a block of wood, spice bazaar, vanilla gourmand, or incense bomb. Yet it definitely has that certain something for me due to the delicate bitter green-nutty component. The longevity is in the medium range at 5 hours. The sillage is not overwhelming, which is why I find it subtle enough for work. For a big evening appearance, it might be too quiet. The beautiful scent is available at a relatively affordable price. What more could one want?

Welcome Pampamia!
This wonderful perfume from the Argentine polo outfitter is a surprise!
The perfect, very European-looking composition consists of unusual ingredients. The bottle is heavy and noble, featuring crossed polo players in the logo, and the silver cap is adorned with a hand-stitched, light green leather sleeve.

The very concrete, clean progression starts with the prickly-sharp pink pepper, the fruit of the Brazilian pepper tree, a type of sumac.
Clean and slightly creamy are the hazelnut leaves (of which I had no idea they had their own scent!), with a finely discernible nut aroma, but without any roasted aspects, thus far removed from any association with edibles.

As the sharpness fades, cute floral aspects emerge, with soft, powdery nuances. I do not find my beloved freesia, but rather the delicate incense, which here does not come across as oriental, but merely provides a spicy support to the flowers.

A harmonious transition to the base notes with amber and vanilla, all unsweetened but very soft, is simply a dream!
Yes, and then the burning wood...
Delicately smoky, actually present throughout the entire scent progression in the background, is the real surprise.
Rather reminiscent of burning hay, this aroma specifically conveys to me a dream image of the vast pampas of Argentina.

The weak sillage makes this scent suitable for the office and everyday wear.
Very suitable for cooking or dining out, as all sweetness is absent.
This perfume is also highly recommended for gentlemen who do not have gaucho pretensions.
I would have liked the longevity to be more pronounced, as after four to five hours I find myself unscented in the pampas!

Nevertheless, this is a 100% perfume, and even though I have not sorted my bottles by quality, this one has earned its place next to Tonka Imperiale.

Summery hot hazelnut kisses dreamily sensual-warm vanilla.....
I am overwhelmed by this wonderful fragrance composition! I have known since Cuero Mujer that La Martina creates beautiful scent delights, but this one is even a notch more wonderful. The spicy-nutty blend in the opening of pepper and soft-rounded hazelnut is an absolute delight for the nose....this is high perfume art, I would say.....then you dive into a breeze of incense, gently wrapped in iris and freesia....while the two flowers take a back seat and let the incense command the field, much to my delight and the joy of my nose! And then comes the absolute showstopper, the spicy, peppery, slightly bitter note flows seamlessly into a velvety-soft, somewhat vanillic finish. This is pure summer on the skin, dry warmth that you can simply love and enjoy.....I can immerse myself in this fragrance, it is pure well-being for me!

This Hazelnut is Popular!
Since the fragrance was not yet listed, I had placed my comment on the male counterpart and have now inserted it here appropriately!

Today, I had the chance to try the women's fragrance "Adios Pampamia Mujer" at my favorite perfume chain: BALSTER. According to the staff member, it was released a few weeks ago in 2011 and contains hazelnut. These hazelnuts are quite popular, as the large tester was almost empty and quite a few bottles have already been sold in our "Marienstadt".
"Adios Pampamia Mujer" is fresh, and the hazelnut in the scent has captivated me. I smelled a truly delicious hazelnut aroma. I had never encountered hazelnuts in a fragrance before, and this aroma gives the scent something unusual and special!
"Adios Pampamia Mujer" is slightly sweet, soft, and creamy. I also find the fragrance suitable for spring: the entire scent composition and the delicate green color!
"Adios Pampamia" lingers on me for a long time and doesn't quickly disappear into the pampas.
For me, it's a very successful special fragrance from La Martina.

Fragrance family: woody-spicy
Fragrance notes: hazelnut leaves, pink pepper, freesia, iris, incense, amber, vanilla, scent of burning wood

smoked hazelnut
I blind auctioned this perfume because I couldn't test it anywhere and was incredibly curious about how a fragrance with hazelnut scent might smell.
Furthermore, it was recommended to me during a fragrance consultation that you can do on the Dou... site. For this, you only need to specify a scent that is also listed, and you receive a corresponding fragrance recommendation that you might like. I was happy to try this out and often received recommendations for scents that I really liked.
Among other things, this perfume also appeared, and my curiosity was piqued. Unfortunately, I couldn't test this scent in any nearby perfumery.
However, since I found that this perfume completely fell outside my usual preferences, also due to the fragrance pyramid, I really wanted to know how it smelled.
So I blind auctioned it and eagerly awaited the chance to finally test it.
Finally, the day came when my package was delivered. Full of anticipation, I opened it and took out the still sealed bottle.
My first impression was quite positive. The bottle is very handy, made of solid glass, and contains a slightly greenish liquid that looks as if you had brewed tea from hazelnut leaves.
Excited, I sprayed a little on my sleeve and sniffed.
Well, first the positive. This is truly, I think, a unique scent that does not smell cheap and is very authentic to hazelnut.
I believe you won't encounter this perfume on many women.
Unfortunately, it is not to my taste. I have personally found that hazelnut does not particularly appeal to me as a fragrance. However, I do not want to rule out that it could smell quite good in combination with other ingredients.
Here, however, the hazelnut definitely dominates in combination with a smoky note, probably the burning wood. I unfortunately do not perceive the vanilla and floral accords at all. There is no scent change on me, and the penetrating hazelnut smell remains until the end.
For those who like hazelnut as a perfume, this could really be a dreamy scent.
The longevity is, by the way, excellent, especially for an EdT, which further underscores the quality of this perfume.

A frequently smelled combination of iris (powder) and pepper + incense, here enhanced with a sweet gourmand note: quite nice.

An unconventional powdery scent. A peppery start, then shifting between dry iris powder and a slightly toasted vanilla sweetness. Nothing green here.

Woody-powdery iris ... with a hint of green!
The amber base comes through lightly burnt.
Vanilla? No ... nut ... yes!
Nice scent :)

Delicious hazelnuts at the start, which unfortunately say "Adios" quickly. Woody iris powder in the smoke, which for me doesn't compare to Bois d'Iris.

I keep thinking, you know this one, right? Exactly. Bois d'Iris. I find the Bois more beautiful, but it's definitely a good alternative.
