Pinstripe Suit and Moped Helmet
5:00 PM, finally off work. I had a successful meeting in City Nord and I'm in a great mood. Everything went perfectly, and with this energy, I can easily tackle the 6 floors down the stairs.
On the 3rd floor, the tie is already gone and the top buttons of my shirt are undone. Arriving in the lobby, I call out a cheerful "Have a nice evening" to the colleague at the information desk and throw my jacket over my shoulder, my briefcase swinging happily back and forth. Quickly through the revolving door and out into the sun. It's May, and a pleasant 22 degrees. The birds are singing as if they want to welcome me to the early evening. The tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths in front of the company parking lot are blooming in a splendor that only an ignoramus would overlook. I deserve such a conclusion to a workday - and the best is yet to come.
Just a little gust of wind is enough, and I faintly catch the scent of my perfume from this morning: Maserati by La Martina!
It's just a short walk from the office to the train, and from there, it's straight home. The family is out, and that suits me perfectly today. Quickly devoured two sandwiches while changing; the pinstripe suit is swapped for jeans, cowboy boots, and a leather jacket. Packed the helmet and off to the underground garage. There stands the ancient Puch that I inherited from my father. Even as a 16-year-old, I was allowed to ride it, even though I didn't have a driver's license back then. It’s only started on special occasions - and today is such an occasion.
After the 3rd attempt, it starts up. What a roar!
Up onto the road and through the villages towards the Elbe. I quickly crossed over on the ferry and am now in the Old Country. It's still apple blossom season, and an incredibly beautiful sight. To the right, the dike, where many walkers are out in this weather. Behind the dike, you can occasionally see the chimneys of large ships heading towards the Hamburg harbor from all over the world. I ride slowly, breathing in the scent of spring again and again. And Maserati blends in as well.
Admittedly, an old Puch is not a sports car. However, since the scent does not reveal great perfumery art either, it somehow fits together. In any case, you can wear Maserati for both occasions, whether for a day in a pinstripe suit or a trip on an old moped. It should definitely be spring, as the scent has a green freshness, a bit of pepper, some light wood, and a touch of spice. And at the latest, when you’ve shed the pinstripe suit and slipped into jeans, it’s time for a re-spray. Unfortunately, Maserati doesn’t have much more power, and the name of the fragrance ultimately promises more than it delivers. Nevertheless, you get a good companion that, while it doesn’t shine like a sports car in the sun, also doesn’t make you hop across the meadow like on a hobby horse.
It’s getting dark slowly, and I turn around. The ferry is waiting for me, and soon I'm back on the other side. I have the setting sun at my back, guiding me home. At home, the lights are on, and the family is already waiting for me.
Back to the underground garage, and thank you for holding up! I had a lot of fun: the workday, the Puch, the apple blossoms, and Maserati by La Martina.
