Gently does it ...

I have never smelt a Vetiver quite like this one.
It is cloaked in the softest of musk and wears a Venetian mask of Petit Grain.
The opening is bright and fizzy ... An energetic little burst of citrus that soon dissipates.
It seems to be a click of the fingers to attract your attention, and when it gets it, you become enthralled by this strangely bewitching composition.

It is not a Wham Bam thank you Ma’am type of scent.
Think beautifully cut crisp white shirt. Perfectly suited to the quietly confident type.
The projection is medium but certainly present. It has good longevity and dries down to a gentle soapiness.
Discreet and alluring are the two words I would use to define Esvedra.

This fragrance opens with an intoxicating melange of bright citrus and sweet floral notes. The feminine citrus-floral bouquet is very pretty, but veers dangerously close towards the territories of hand soap or - even worse - bathroom deodorant. After roughly half an hour the vibrant top notes calm down considerably: the heart accord is a clean floral with subtle touches of musky wood and powdery iris. These notes stay with me until the dry down.

Gentle Vetiver……

Three things can be established right from the start:

ESVEDRA is…

a) ….fundamentally a vetiver scent

b) …a distinctly synthetic fragrance

c) …not structured in a “pyramidal” way
I’ll start with point c……

The scent does not have a classic “development”……all notes are immediately present…….they circle like concentric rings around the vetiver center and overlap in an oscillating movement……sometimes here, sometimes there…..

The overall impression is fresh, spicy-aromatic, and of delicate green…..

The “harsh edges” that vetiver can sometimes have are smoothed out by a distinctly noticeable coriander note and various types of musk…….foremost among them are probably the nevenolides, which create this slightly powdery, veil-like impression……

I perceive lemon only very subtly…….the petitgrain, on the other hand, is a bit more pronounced……it is, so to speak, the “fresh breeze” in the fragrance experience……

The initially noticeable soapy aspects gradually recede into the background……

What remains is a very pleasant, grassy, light green, and creamy-well-groomed scent……

If you want to see my comments go live online, you usually have to wait until the evening, sometimes even at night, as I typically spray my two test candidates for the day around noon and wait until they evaporate, which can take a while. For my next Laboratorio Olfattivo scent test, I didn't have to wait that long, as it quickly became clear that the fragrance offers neither development nor a real drydown. The creator even intends for you to know right away what you're getting, with all the notes being in the spotlight and focus at the same time. This has its pros and cons.

Since I don't have to concentrate on the 3 phases of the fragrance, it's quite pleasant to only have to describe one scent. White soap, clean hands, lime, chalky-cold water, chlorine, cleanliness, powdery, soapy, chalk, purity, petitgrain & vetiver, bright, daily, perfect for feeling clean after a shower, unisex, high-quality, clear, structured, well thought out, simple, boring, soapy, soapy, soapy.

Bottle: I would love to try the sprayer live.
Sillage: You would really have to lather up to project anything.
Longevity: Good for a soapy scent - 5-7 hours.

A beautiful soapy fragrance, matching the also pleasant liquid soap Biancothe from LO. Both are recommendable - however, I expect more in the niche champions league for an even better rating. I see the Prada soap fragrances, for example, at a similar level, and they are cheaper and have been available for longer (Infusion d'Homme/Vetiver)!

Freshly Soaped

I can't really say much about this scent, but since I love LO fragrances, this one shouldn't go uncommented.
Esverda smells like soap to me, a good soap, nothing more and nothing less. And that from start to finish. I can't detect any scent development.
Esverdea is a lovely fragrance, but I can't wear it all the time, mostly just after a hard day at work when I want to feel freshly soaped for a long time after showering.
