Somewhat elegant, somewhat luminous
Linari ELEGANZA LUMINOSA seems like a pretty plain Jane floriental to me. This is a yellowish perfume, with a creamy feeling, slightly sweet sandalwood--nothing like this house's Mark Buxton caramel perfume, thankfully--with a smooth mix of florals which give something of a mimosa feeling, although mimosa is apparently not present here. Perhaps yellow freesia plus x, y, and z creates a quasi-mimosa effect to my nose? Who knows?

The drydown of ELEGANZA LUMINOSA is, once again, a smooth sandalwood vanilla scent, and it smells perfectly fine, but I think that this same effect has been achieved by dozens of other perfumes at a fraction of the price. I'm not saying that every perfume has to be radically unique, but this one is not distinct enough to stand out from the crowd, so, all other things being equal, it seems rational to seek out a less expensive member of the same class, if a creamy yellow floriental is what you're after...

This composition seems rather feminine to me. Something about the sweet florals, perhaps?

Just an Evening Pareto Optimum
Orange with a nimm2 twist and a hint of cheesy bergamot. Along with a slightly musty canned fruit rustle. Apricot perhaps. Another trace could be the "peaches" from Haribo. In both cases, I find it hard to spontaneously connect to "elegance" or "radiant".

Furthermore, I cannot distinctly follow the promised botanical notes; I would have to somewhat cobble them together, so to speak, by considering the fruit as extracted from fruity rose, interpreting the sweetness as a hint of lily-of-the-valley heaviness, and ticking off jasmine. Not that I am particularly keen on wavering Blymeranz, but I would have expected a bit more than (for me) almost undetectable floral-fruity generalities. It reminds me of the lackluster generic fruit mush from 'Modern Classic for Women' by Brocard and 'The Collector - Morning Muscs' by Alexandre J - two unfortunately uninspiring references. I even find their hint of more or less cheap chocolate again today.

Over the course of several hours, it slowly becomes creamier; I initially smell primarily pasty sandalwood on the verge of H-cream, which is also not delightful. By noon, I gradually recognize a quiet duet of orange and amber that reminds me from afar of L'Artisan's 'Séville à l'Aube'. At least, as it carries me solidly through the afternoon, and by evening the fragrance manages to climb to a kind of "Pareto Optimum," as a musky creamy orange-jasmine-amber note develops downright sexy ambitions.

Pareto Optimum. A state in which, broadly speaking, it is no longer possible to improve something in a matter without simultaneously having to worsen something else. One of those thoughts and terms that typically arise in the realm of so-called economics and can often be sorted somewhere on a direct line between "practically useless" and "self-evident." Here, I just want to say: I believe the fragrance has reached its individual best; there's no more to be done.

The catch with the Pareto Optimum: This is often illustrated by the image of a hiker who has painstakingly climbed a mountain peak and now stands proudly at the top. Suddenly, the clouds part, the fog lifts, and before the eyes of the brave climber, the magnificent panorama of the Alps rises up. In relation to the more successful latter part of 'Eleganza Luminosa', the majestic peaks are concretely represented for me by the already mentioned 'Séville à l'Aube' as well as Pierre Guillaume's 'Parfumerie Générale - 19 Louanges Profanes'.

I thank MisterE for the sample.

Radiant Ahrenshoop
I tested Eleganza Luminosa in February 2014 and only gave it 60%.
I can no longer understand that today.
Time and place are now different. I am in vacation mode, the sun is shining, the sea is just a few hops away.
Following a tip, I visited a high-end perfumery and was asked about my fragrance preferences, bergamot, sandalwood....

Among other things, the opulent, slightly ostentatious bottle from Linari was now in front of me. The brand was unknown to me. As mentioned, the test was 480 days ago, and it is mainly due to the many subsequent fragrance samples but primarily the 'low' rating at that time that it was no longer in my memory.

In my notes from back then, I had noted gourmand and sweet.

Gourmand is nothing here at all.
Fresh bergamot, lemon, and orange stand in contrast to jasmine and freesia, underpinned by a bitter green. This suits me very well. Too green scents give me headaches. Too much sweetness is also not my thing, but here it does not take center stage due to the juxtaposition with the citrus notes. The powdery, gentle iris has a calming effect.
I cannot detect any prominent lily of the valley, and I can only sense the rose.
The base with a hint of patchouli and musk rounds off the amber-colored woody warmth.
Eleganza Luminosa is for me a fresh but also muted, contrasting floral summer scent.
It lasts about 5 hours on me.

The bottle is very high-quality, luxuriously crafted. I don’t necessarily need that in this size. But I like the wooden cap, the colors, and overall it is harmonious.

Dear Esther19, thank you for the tip. Thus, I have acquired a fragrance that will always remind me of this vacation.

Elegant
The scent is as elegant as its name. Not a bit sweet or
gourmand. The perfume simply smells fine and exquisite. No occasion
can be too fine or too formal for it. With this, you are perfectly suited for all
occasions, even for working in a bank.

The Radiant Elegance of Linari
This fragrance is undoubtedly feminine. A fine and delicate composition of churches, raspberries, and light floral notes. As the scent develops, it becomes increasingly floral but is always accompanied by a rounding light freshness. Unfortunately, while the fragrance experience is quite pleasant, it is not really special. A woman can wear this without hesitation and smells wonderfully sensual, yet she will not stand out from the crowd. Beautiful but also beautifully unremarkable.

Fruity-sweet fresh floral in plenty of soft-focus musky sauce, lacking individuality. Although: is there a bit of car seat in there?

Citrusy freshness with a lot of green, before floral notes bloom on a clean, woody musk. Pleasant synthetic. Nice. Rather mainstream.

The fine summer evening scent; citrusy spice, fruit, flowers, wood. Not high art but calmly elegant, feminine, harmonious. Fits!

The fruity, citrus, and floral notes shine so brightly that it almost feels watery-floral: a somewhat generic beach vibe.

In the middle, I only think of fruity buttermilk tropic or yogurt gummies. It has something, but elegance is elsewhere…

It has something of my beloved Zen. Fresh orange/bergamot with lots of green leaves. Light flowers next to fine wood, very beautiful scent!

Haribo gummy bears, dissolved in bubbling pasta water... too overpowering to live up to the name.

Citrus opening, bright florals, sandalwood, and amber in the dry down. Weak sillage and longevity.

Starts citrus-woody, then spiced, natural plum + wood. Much later also: waxy-vanilla-creamy-soapy + sandalwood + musk.
