Bright, Elegant Powder Veil
Mirjam and I, we have had a hard time with each other. It had to be multiple tests, which is actually usual. But this fragrance just wouldn't unfold properly for me at first. Where are the spices? I asked myself as I read the pyramid here after testing.
After a rather alcoholic start, I initially smell airy lemon cream, accompanied by unsweetened dry powder. Half an hour later, I am reminded of Eau de Shalimar, not smoky like the actual Shalimar itself, no, it smells of spicy vanilla, not sugar vanilla.
Later on, I only perceive this delicate cream powder. My nose has to get closer to my skin, so the sillage is weak. An absolutely fine, elegant body powder care scent envelops me more or less strongly with an airy, finely powdered care series scent veil. On clothing, it naturally lasts longer, but on my skin, unfortunately only three to four hours. So don’t be shy when spraying. I don’t know where to buy it, but it is said to be very affordable.
A big thank you to the lovely Parfuma for this sample!

Mirjam can't quite decide ;)
A lot has been written, read, and tested recently about From Mirjam with Love. The feelings ranged from "elf scent" to "beautiful" to "has tried hard" :)
Today my blind purchase arrived and I was so curious ... I really like Candy Prada, Satine, and L'Instant Magic as well, and these fragrances were all mentioned more or less as scent twins of the "beautiful" Mirjam.
I say .... Mirjam can't quite decide ;)
About the scent:
Mirjam starts rather zesty-fresh with citrus notes and fine powder. My first thought was: Very similar to L'Instant Magic. Then I catch a bit of musk and with the next "sniff" at my wrist ... wow ... this is definitely Prada Candy! I distinctly smell that musk-benzoin mixture that I like so much in Candy, paired with the most beautiful powderiness. Then the scent wobbles a bit back and forth, and at first, one really thinks that the fragrance notes can't agree whether they tend more towards Guerlain or rather Prada.
I smell no spices nor do I smell vanilla. Exotic flowers, definitely not three times.
After about 20 minutes, Mirjam can now gladly have me ... the Sweetsmell now firmly decides for itself:
From Mirjam with Love is a scent twin for Prada Candy! Period!
Okay ... it's not that easy after about an hour ... it seems a bit duller than the original Candy ... not quite as fluffy-beautiful and the musk is also not quite the same ... but !!! For those who find Prada Candy (which is also said to have poorer longevity) too expensive ... they will find a quite affordable scent twin here. I promise!
I can't really judge the longevity of From Mirjam with Love yet, but it has already held up quite well on my skin for 4 hours. A rather skin-close scent ... once the first hour has passed.
The bottle looks much prettier in person than in the picture shown above.
Wearable all year round and for many occasions .... but I can only say this now because for me, Prada Candy is not as much of a sweet monster as it is for many of you :)
Conclusion:
Mirjam can't quite decide ... do I smell like Prada Candy or L'Instant Magic? The Sweetsmell takes that off her - Candy!
A beautiful scent for little money. If the skin chemistry is right ;) Those who like Prada Candy and haven't added it to their collection yet because it might be too expensive ... Test it!!!
Since I own L'Instant Magic and Candy, Mirjam can leave me again.

Always Tried Hard
I have had the sample "From Mirjam with Love" for over two months. Aliana's comment, especially the mention of "Shalimar," caught my attention. Aliana was generous enough to send me a sample. I hope she won't regret it after my comment.

In the meantime, I have tested the fragrance four times, in different conditions and at different temperatures. You see, Mirjam and I have really tried hard.

First test. The weather: cool and dry. One spray on the wrist - Iris. Pure iris scent. Where are the promised citrus notes? Cool iris, the composition reminds me of "Iris Prima." Not a bad fragrance, but a bit simplistic.

While the iris is still trying to be a great iris, vanilla joins in. I know this one, right? Now it gets interesting; have I just discovered "Vanille d'Iris" for a small price? Quickly, a spray of "Vanille d'Iris" on the other arm. A parallel test! The tension rises - but not for long: where is Mirjam? Is she no longer trying? Yes, there she is, barely noticeable: while the drop of "Vanille d'Iris" unfolds brilliantly and scents the whole living room, Mirjam has already reached the base. And unfortunately, it is a typical budget fragrance base: vanillic, somewhat artificial, and a bit stale.

Second and third tests. The weather: cool and humid. I try a bit more fragrance. The result: more vanilla and still a bit of citrus at the beginning. Otherwise, the same old game; still no spices, and even now, Mirjam leaves me after not even two hours. It's not my nose; no one in the family can still perceive the fragrance after two hours.

Fourth test. The weather: warm and humid. Again, Mirjam is trying to be a good fragrance. Today, she chooses "Eau de Cashmere" as a model. Unfortunately, she only manages the initial mustiness of "Eau de Cashmere," but not its fine floral notes. However, she stubbornly holds on to what she has achieved. It is clearly the iris that presents itself mustily. Vanilla is also present - and to my surprise, today a cream-toffee note appears, which I also recognize. "Cristallo di Rocca"? Why do I always think of other fragrances when testing "From Mirjam with Love"?
Although the fragrance lasts a bit longer in this weather, compliments are not to be expected: the sillage is virtually nonexistent.

Four tests, the same result. No sillage, poor longevity, thin base. No, Mirjam is not bad. She lacks good role models. But as it is with role models - they remain unattainable. And it’s not enough for independence. So I stick to my judgment: she has tried hard.
--------------------------------------

Now please don't say the usual: perception is different (and that's a good thing). The differences in perception create the conditions for a comment. Parfumo users with a similar fragrance perception (you know who I mean) will find something to take from my comment. The Parfumos with an opposing perception (they also know who I mean) will calmly order a bottle after this comment. Many others will confirm what they already knew: one should always test first. And those who completely disagree with my comment? They also have an option. You know what I mean ;)

Velvety, feminine, and of incredible beauty
The company M.Asam produces wonderfully compatible cosmetics made in Germany, and the couple does not see themselves as perfumers.
However, they recognized some time ago that many women who love a particular skincare line would also like to have the scent as a perfume. Thus, they have launched an exact or very similar fragrance for almost every one of their lines. They also release seasonal fragrances, as well as unique, limited-edition cosmetic series and their perfumes.

From Mirjam with love is a perfume that does not belong to any of the current series. There are a couple of such perfumes as well. After testing two other scents from M.Asam that I found really beautiful and repurchased, I ordered this one based on the positive comments on the website. And what can I say?

I am really glad I did!

The scent is beautiful. No, it is not JUST beautiful. It is MULTI-LAYERED and very UNEXPECTEDLY beautiful.
I always wonder in such moments what must be so wonderful in the soul of a perfumer when they are able to create such fragrances.
From Mirjam with love is truly like a declaration of love. As if love had been taken as the guiding theme and everything that makes a woman feel loved has been dripped into this bottle, drop by drop: affection, sympathy, human warmth, kindness. But also sensual femininity, and a lot of it!

After spraying, due to the alcohol, it smells for a moment like fruity, delicious vanilla-orange mousse. This association fades seconds later, but the opening remains delicate, despite the ethereal freshness and slight alcohol breath. Immediately afterward, a spiciness creeps in, which, together with the vanilla, slowly bids farewell to the citrus note and lets the fragrance glide into an incredible, feminine, sensual depth. Thus, the scent remains enveloped in citrus freshness for about fifteen minutes, but it is not constant; rather, it vibrates and releases more and more spices. Just at the moment when the citrus was no longer there and all the spices, some flowers, and the vanilla seemed to come alive on my skin, my friend walked through the door. After we hugged, she said beaming:
"Ah! You got it, the Shalimar Ode à la Vanille - Sur la route du Mexique! Congratulations!"
Then she sniffed me longer and said:
"On you, it's different, more floral and not so vanillic at all!" Slowly, her expression darkened, and she asked reproachfully:
"Or did you layer it?! Shame on you!"
It should be mentioned that she is a true Shalimar lover and has them all - the Shalimar fragrances. I used a word for her that she has also adopted - shalimarisch. If something is beautiful and reminds of Shalimar or would fit with it, it is shalimarisch - a scent, a feeling, a scarf, a piece of jewelry, an atmosphere. Everything revolves around Shalimar for her.
I was really surprised that this scent was so close to her passion; it is true - there is a similarity for me too, just not so concrete. In my opinion, From Mirjam with love is an independent, multi-layered fragrance. When the citrus is no longer there, gentle flowers, warm spices, and an incredibly mild, unsweet vanilla take the stage and prove their skill. The scent becomes more complex and refined with each passing minute. In some phases, it is truly shalimarisch; in others, it is a floral scent with spice, even towards the end, where it is soft as a feather.
Scenes flash before my inner eye, not real subjects, just isolated images.
A hammock under a leafy tree, on which a clematis is climbing, lending its floral splendor to the tree.
Two women on a porch, somewhere in the southern states... Their gazes dreamily directed into the distance, lost in a shared silence.
A soothing Ayurvedic treatment, with floral oils and spiced salves.
All images of inner peace and balance.
This goes on for several hours. After about 6 hours, the scent has faded to the point where I can only sense it on my skin. However, on my clothing, it is still very nice the next day.
At this price, you can also spray it on multiple times, especially since the development is very beautiful and you enjoy accompanying it again and again.
For me, this perfume is an unexpected discovery, and I immediately ordered another one.

..........
The bottle no longer looks like the one in the picture here. I find the new bottle worse....

My new feel-good summer scent! Lovely, powdery, fluffy, not too sweet. The creamy base lasts for hours!! It doesn't smell "cheap" at all.

To my nose, it's an undefinable, quite chemically smelling mix. I definitely can't understand the good
reviews. :o(

Powdery-sweet spring scent that resembles L'instant Magic, but is a touch sweeter (pleasantly) than LiM :) Good price, good quality :)

L instant Magic is surprisingly similar, the best alternative so far. Also a bit like Satin by Lalique. Very fine. :-)
