Mr. Marbert
Here comes a spontaneous thought. As it sometimes happens. Well... Marbert Classic Sport, there it is, abandoned at the bottom of the shelf. In line with the bottle, I imagine the (well-groomed) Mr. Marbert in a German office, when the air conditioning fails in the height of summer. Both do their job, neither causes a stir. They stand or sit inconspicuously and go unnoticed, neither positively nor negatively. In the case of Mr. Marbert, that’s a guess; in the case of the fragrance, it’s a certainty. Because the latter simply does its job, as mentioned. It starts off, especially considering its hidden shelf space, refreshingly spicy. But the flat, familiar spice-rose blend reveals itself too quickly and doesn’t change much afterwards. It does nothing wrong, but it also doesn’t stand out. In terms of price/performance, I don’t want to deny its existence. It would be ideal for me as a companion for the gym bag for quick application - e.g. after a corporate sports session or when the air conditioning fails again.
