Is banana flower in the room with us right now?

Creamy tuberose, sweet jasmine. But the banana flower, which to me was the star of the original Daisy Wild composition, here is just a humid greenish backdrop. Fuzzy and completely out of focus. Why? :(

This version is cute, pleasant and well rounded, don't get me wrong! But there are already so many other perfumes on the market which are all about jasmine or tuberose. Banana flower was the thing that made Daisy Wild unique and special. What's "intense" about making another forgettable sweet floral perfume out of it?

Moderate starting sillage, a bit less than an arm's length. Takes ~1,5 hours to settle on skin. At this point flowers start melting into the ambery background. A spritz of sandalwood keeps things fresh, everything works together well, it smells good. I feel... completely indifferent.

In another ~1,5 hours flowers fade away. Sandalwood becomes the most noticeable note. Softly sweet, ambery, very flat. From this point onwards it starts to sour, but also becomes faint enough to be easily ignored until you find the time to shower. Takes another ~3 hours to disappear entirely. It wasn't bad, but, like, what was it even for?

Opens with a banana blast, then surprisingly turns into an actually very beautiful, easy to wear, elegant perfume

Holy banana Batman! Considering banana isn’t listed as a note, this opens with a blast of banana fruit. The scent is somewhere in between that of a Gros Michael and Cavendish banana, there’s artificial and fresh fruit here. A definate hit of isoamyl acetate. If you were hoping for sweet banana in this fragrance, you’ll be satisfied.. for about 5 mins and then the banana.. well.. splits! I really wasn’t sure what I was getting into initially, thinking I’d accidentally stumbled across a gourmand.. but as the perfume settled, I was very pleasantly surprised.

The jasmine comes through and, to my nose, a hint of tuberose, but gently so. There’s still a fruity hint and what I also imagine then is the banana flower. It pulls the white flowers toward a yellow floral, a hint of green and creamy waxiness, and as the amber creeps up from the base, a warm resin plays with the brightness. There’s a little bit of earthy nuttiness in there too. It’s sweet but surprisingly really well balanced and very pleasant to the nose. As it settles further, in stark contrast to its opening, the sandalwood pulls all the notes together to create a rather sensual yet bright, sweet fruity, earthy floral. The dry down actually reminds me a bit of Paco Rabane’s Olympea. It doesn’t smell like it, it just has the same vibe. A sensual, almost velvety slightly, fruity floral. Easy to wear and very nice indeed.

I was worried about the ‘intense’ bit. I don’t get on well with Marc Jacobs DNA, they all give me stonking headaches, which is unfortunate as my daughter favoured the cute bottles from her late teens and I’ve had to endure many a car journey choked out in a cloud of Daisy, Dot, Perfect and their many flankers. But not with this one, it doesn’t overly smell like a Marc Jacobs and it’s actually one I could wear.. and ENJOY.

I thought I’d share the OH’s view for balance. When I first sprayed it he yucked it and said it smelt like a sweet air freshener lol. An hour later he said ‘oh, you smell good’ and asked if I had sprayed a different perfume, didn’t believe me and was adamant that I was wearing the perfume I ‘use to wear ages ago’.. showed him the bottle of Olympea ‘yes, that one!’.. so it wasn’t just my nose. So I did spray a bit of Olympea on a mouillette.. they are very different but there is definitely a familiarity to the feel of them both in the dry down.

Collection Status

this was a sample. And I could actually see me considering this as a potential holiday perfume. It really is a surprisingly nice perfume. I’m also hoping my daughter can get over her hatred of banana and choose this as her next Marc Jacobs

Creamy banana

I was curious about the new "Intense" version of Daisy Wild, so I went to my trusted perfumery. But to be honest, my first impression was rather disappointing, on the test strip the fragrance seemed synthetic and a little too sweet, almost trivial. But I got a sample from the saleswoman and sprayed it on my skin at home. Lo and behold, the fragrance developed quite differently on my skin.

A surprisingly balanced composition. Fresh and green top notes, a hint of wildflower - feminine, but a little kitschy. After a short time, warm fruity, sweet accents develop, reminding me of a creamy banana dessert. It's a fragrance that doesn't impose itself and has a modern touch.

Longevity is good for an Eau de Parfum Intense but not overbearingly intense and lasted about 6 to 7 hours, developing very close to the skin after a few hours. Those looking for a strong presence throughout the day will be disappointed.

Sillage is subtle to moderate. In the first one or two hours, it is still clearly noticeable, after which it tends to remain a pleasant cloud of fragrance in your personal vicinity - perfect for the end of the day, the office and spring.

Conclusion is that it is a fragrance that has completely changed my judgment from the first smell on the test tire. Not a loud statement fragrance, suitable for the masses but not too mainstream.

Donald Duck has once again...

She thinks about whether the argument about the washing up was really necessary. But Scrooge just infuriates her from time to time.

When you apply this fragrance, the first thing you notice is a floral banana scent that quickly blends with the other floral notes. A woody aroma is also noticeable. It still has a light citric freshness that becomes creamy with the amber
The longevity and silage are good.

Here we have a floral, creamy fragrance for women, which I can also imagine wearing on one or two men. I think this fragrance can be worn well from the age of 18. Due to its lightness, I can see this fragrance being worn on warm and hot days. It looks good during the day at school, at university, in the office, at a meeting, a meal or even when shopping. I see this fragrance less for the evening as it is very light.

If you like a floral fresh citrusy woody light creamy fragrance you are in good hands here. You can argue about the price for this fragrance.
