Daisy Marc Jacobs 2008 Eau de Parfum

I have had this perfume on my wishlist for a very long time now since smelling it on a tester card a few months ago. Today I decided to try it on my skin, and let's just say I was utterly disappointed.

Daisy EDP does not blend well with my skin chemistry at all, and ends up smelling like something reminiscent of play-dough. It was somewhat sickening and dirty smelling on me.

When I look back now, I can see why so many people love Daisy, yet I don't consider this fragrance unique or outstanding in any way. Marc Jacobs was actually playing it safe when this perfume was created. I can't deny that Daisy is a best-seller, being very popular amongst young women, yet I wonder how many people bought this fragrance because of the bottle design and the hype surrounding it.

I set out to get the longed-for red Samsara EDP bottle for my girlfriend - and my dealer at the flea market had it.
Eureka!

The trip to the flea market is always a rewarding journey.

But I let my eyes wander over the sea of bottles on the table - and they landed on the golden flowers of a black Marc Jacobs bottle.

A noble appearance that still harbors a subtly playful side.

The scent also comes across as surprisingly mature and very soft and emotional.

The strawberries are aromatic and accompanied by delicately bitter violet.
Very chic.
Gardenia and jasmine step lightly in an elegant direction - pleasantly framed by soft woods and sweet warm vanilla.

I host a few Daisies - but this one dances skillfully out of line.

Very suitable for grown-up kids like me.

From the neighboring stall, Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is" drifts over to me - and I sway to the melody, thinking: I want to know what scent it is.

But the ingredients are not that important to me - because this Daisy is simply heartwarming.

~ Inspiration ~
By now, there are so many Daisy variants that I have lost track. By chance, I came across a sample of this EDP variant.

~ Bottle ~
This flanker is also adorned with the cute daisies that bear its name. The only difference is that the bottle is designed in black and gold, which, according to my research, is related to the trend of cool metallic fashion.

~ Scent ~
It starts with green violet leaf and fresh, wild strawberries. Floral accords of jasmine, violet flowers, gardenias, and a hint of zesty grapefruit follow. It is rounded off with warm, woody notes, a bit of musk, and vanilla.

~ Longevity ~
On my skin, it lasts about 4 hours (a bit longer on clothing and hair). Unfortunately, the longevity cannot be extended with multiple sprays.

~ Occasion ~
A fresh, floral, unobtrusive spring and summer scent for daytime. For those who find other summer perfumes too fruity-sweet.

~ Conclusion ~
The scent is perhaps a bit more intense than the regular "Daisy (Eau de Toilette) | Marc Jacobs," but otherwise, I notice no difference. It smells just as the name suggests: daisies.

...however, it smells almost identical to Chance Eau Tendre on my skin... I have no idea if I just imagined this while testing, but that's how it comes across to me. Eau Tendre is just a bit "fresher" - Daisy is, in my opinion, a bit warmer, but just as powdery. Super beautiful bottle like all Daisies... but I’ll stick with my Chance - I still think it smells nicer ;)

Smells nice, not too overpowering, like a warm summer breeze. It doesn't last very long, but you can spray it more often without worry. Unusual for an American perfume.
