Dior Fahrenheit EDT without the gasoline accord

I blind bought this after watching Youtube fragrance reviews - give me a break, I didn't know any better back then! It was touted as Fahrenheit EDT without the gasoline accord, which intrigued me... and it is a fairly accurate description to be fair.

Mercedes-Benz Intense is a delightful violet freshie. If you're not fond of violet leaf, steer clear, because that note dominates this linear fragrance. It's surprisingly wearable up to 30 degrees Celsius. Having said that, given the benefit of hindsight, I wouldn't pay more than €30 for the 120ml bottle.

Warning: needs 10 sprays minimum so those extra 20ml you get will go poof quicker than Keyser Söze. Don't expect great projection and sillage.

Masculinity Level: A modern, metrosexual, fit 25-year-old male who thinks he's tough, but gets manicures and pedicures regularly.

Attractive Nose Biter

Yep, it really packs a punch! Because after I applied the first spritzes, a thousand thoughts shot through my mind at once: starting from "hang in there, it will surely get better," to "a sentence with X" (which didn't happen because I was left breathless :) to "you need a gun license for this." Or in other words: very unusual - completely different from anything I’ve known so far.

But what really happened?

I had merely experienced my first olfactory "shock," nothing more - and my nose is still intact :) Because afterwards, the intense ignition of this Benz settles into a rather pleasant mix, albeit quite extraordinary as it progresses. It feels like a "cooling water," bringing a very cool, slightly aloof vibe, on which a brightly fluffy violet dances increasingly.

You only catch a hint of bergamot in the first few minutes, while the mandarin remains more in the background. But that doesn’t detract from the fragrance, as it unfolds better and better in the first two to three hours, with the sweet violet sometimes taking the lead, and then again the ozone-like, strict, cool-spicy wood-patch base coming forward. It seems that the Intense plays with its ambivalent attributes.

Yes, this MBI doesn’t skimp on synthetics, but cleverly so, as they are more a design feature than a disturbing factor. After about 4 hours, all the notes have largely merged, while two hours later, the coolness of the fragrance predominates over the [remaining] violet. And the longevity is around 7-8 hours with good sillage.

Conclusion: Unusual, yet attractive Benz with solid performance of a slightly cool chrome violet - somewhat aloof and spacey. Therefore, a sample is recommended before purchase, as this Intense is more suited for parallel universes, for cyber fans... at the neon bar :)

At least that’s how I initially experienced it...

But after wearing it a few times, I didn’t find the synthetics so intense anymore, and the violet really stands out. Because its fine sweetness in contrast to the pepper-cedar strictness is very well balanced.

Conclusion: an initially acclimatizing, yet ultimately

attractive nose biter :)

The Galloping of 200 Horses on Asphalt

I received Mercedes - Benz Intense as a birthday gift from a friend who had been abroad for a long time. He said it was a blind buy and he just picked it up because I especially love black flacons. The flacon is very handy and looks good too. Nice gray combined with black. I like it!

The beginning of the perfume is herbaceous, citrusy, and extremely fresh. The mandarin boldly takes center stage and really drives the perfume to get going. The bergamot makes everything appear a bit herbaceous and sways between the mandarin and a touch of delicate violets. A strong beast awakens right from the start. And it gets stronger.

The alpha animal among cars! After about two full hours, the heart note comes racing in. It's as if you simply jump from the top note to the heart note, without much fuss and without any spectacular ignitions. As if someone is hastily galloping 200 horses over the asphalt. They are chasing and stressing immensely. However, I am growing to like this transition more and more. At first, it stressed me out because I couldn't perceive much in the fragrance development, but now it bothers me less and less. It "plumps" into a completely different dimension. It becomes much harder and stronger. It picks up some depth, but never becomes too intrusive.

A sturdy stallion, really broad chest and radiant, beautiful black coat. Yes, that is Mercedes - Benz for me. The heart note is spicy. The pepper sizzles, enveloped in something smoky - in this smoke, a flower flutters around confusedly. An impressive play. It stays like this for a long time; only after a solid four hours does it shift into a woody phase. The alpha animal, in my eyes, becomes even stronger. It roars - I push the gas to the limit. Patchouli is very dominant and lets the concert of fragrance components play on its own. There is still something herbaceous, rough in the mix, but I can't quite pinpoint what it is.

The fragrance pyramid contains Ambrox. A chemical substance. I have never smelled it and can't really imagine what it is like. Maybe it’s the component that makes it what it is.

The longevity is quite good. After six hours, the horses are still galloping around. It only slowly begins to fade. A strong little guy that is hard to tame.

Not a work of perfume art, but still very wearable with its own character. So definitely not 0815!

Solidly made, internally consistent fresh-cool-peppery-cyber mix

Another perplexing scent that I actually didn't want to test, but applied it due to the lack of unknown alternatives at the Turquoise, as I didn't want to run out of the store without a test.

The standard Mercedes is terribly bland; I described it back then as "Fahrenheit Ultralight".

There is stylistically nothing left of "Fahrenheit" here; Mercedes rather pushes into a slightly cool, somewhat cyber-inspired direction, while surprisingly solidly crafted.

I would have expected significantly less from it, I admit that right away.
The fragrance actually manages to build something coherent aromatically:

A lightly cooling, metallic violet leaf at the beginning, brushed by a decidedly fresh fruity mandarin.
Summer-like, for sure, but nicely grounded by a hint of pepper.

The synthetic materials listed above are quite noticeable as the scent develops; it certainly doesn't follow a classic route. Nevertheless, one cannot accuse the fragrance (like the other 95% of mainstream offerings) of simply smelling completely banal and/or artificial.

The base indeed allows a mild mix of vetiver and patchouli to emerge, subtly plant-like and appearing internally cohesive. Everyday suitable and truly solid.

From Test Run to Top Purchase #everythingdoneright

I was looking for an evening scent that would somewhat reduce the wear of my perfume Mercedes - Benz Black Leather.
After that, I watched several Jeremy Fragrance videos, which made me aware of the fragrance Intense.
Fortunately, it was on sale for about 25 euros, so I immediately placed an order with Notino.
When I first tested this scent with a buddy, it was shortly followed by complete ecstasy (on both sides). The fragrance has an indescribable woody cedar note, with a bit of freshness from the Calabrian bergamot and mandarin.
With this scent, you are definitely well-equipped for autumn and winter, for example for dates or Christmas holidays.
Lastly, what excites me about the bottle is the simplicity of the bottle itself, as well as the spray head, which evenly and skillfully envelops your neck with the woody-fresh scent DNA.
