Sailing Forever, but Please Without Me
When I saw the fragrance pyramid of Moschino Forever Sailing, I thought I had finally found the fresh aquatic scent to my taste, as I really liked all the components individually. Bought it blind, tried it out, and was absolutely surprised. But not in a good way!
The top note unfortunately turned out to be very piercing and, despite an excess of mint, significantly less fresh than I had hoped. As the fragrance develops, it takes on a character that gives me headaches. This is a scent that I would not want to perceive on myself or on anyone else.

I noticed the sillage more strongly than it seems here, but that is probably because I do not like the scent. Fortunately, it actually dissipates faster on me than the rating here suggests. I actually really like the design. I find the pairing of the typically kitschy Moschino logo as a cap with a simple yet elegantly designed bottle quite cool.

I think the fragrance is not poorly crafted; I would be doing it a disservice. However, since I really feel unwell after a while when I smell it, it unfortunately has to sail on without me.

Successful Aquatic Alternative
This fragrance has been on my radar for a while. The reason: I love aquatic scents. I really enjoy wearing them on warmer days and in my leisure time. Additionally, this one is very affordable. I like budget-friendly fragrances because you can grab them without a guilty conscience. Moschino is marketed by EuroItalia like the Versace scents. At least the performance of both brands is top-notch; when it comes to the fragrances, it's a matter of taste. I really like both brands.
I purchased a small 30ml bottle. It was available for about 15 euros. A fair price for this fragrance. The bottle looks typically Moschino. Striking with a large trashy Moschino inscription. The same bottle as the original Forever, just with blue liquid. I find bottles from Moschino like Fresh Couture to be very original and fun. This one, on the other hand, is rather boring.
Freshly sprayed, a sharp penetrating note hits you. It's not really disgusting, but slightly unpleasantly penetrating. A lot of mint, that's probably the reason. Lemon and grapefruit add a burst of freshness. After a short time, the fragrance becomes softer. A bit of lavender and aquatic notes join in. The Blue-Sky Accord will be a fantasy note, but it fits well. A great freshness that would be perfect for a blue sky. Towards the end, it becomes even more pleasant. Then musk and really very pleasant fresh woods come into play. A truly great final phase.
In my first test, I quickly wrote it off because the top note isn't the nicest. But as with many fragrances: You have to give them time. In the second test, I was surprised at how much it had changed.
The performance is really great as well. It lasts about 10 hours, although the last hours are only faintly perceptible. But for a fragrance in this price range, that's commendable. The sillage is also really good for many hours.
If you like Nautica "Voyage," you might find a great alternative here. It's not a big compliment-getter, but it's absolutely suitable for a great aquatic everyday freshness. It can also be used for sports activities. Not a complex fragrance.

Fresh Sailing Voyage
I can't help it, I have no connection to the fashion of Moschino at all. Yet every time I pass by a Moschino tester bottle, I have to spray it. I find the fragrances, with one exception, not particularly noteworthy or worth buying. And, oh, there's another bottle that I don't know yet.

A deep blue box with eye-catching lettering certainly grabs attention, but it's not really a showstopper. The bottle can be confused with the classic "Forever," with only the light blue liquid and the addition of "Sailing" providing a distinguishing feature. Still, I am repeatedly fascinated by the "stopper" made of silver "Moschino" letters. Such ostentation is otherwise hard to find for miles. Well, yes, a feast for the eyes is ultimately something different.

The scent opens fresh, aquatic, and spicy, in line with the term "Sailing." A little bit Mediterranean. You can clearly recognize the citrus fruits, and the mint together with the lavender does make an impression. There’s something synthetic that comes through, which I can't quite name, but it doesn't bother me much; rather, it enhances the aquatic undertone. Nevertheless, I’m not particularly fond of the term "Blue-Sky Accord." In the base, there’s subtle musk, stronger woods, and a restrained patchouli.

I really like the transition from fresh to spicy, slightly oriental notes; the progression is harmonious and well-composed. Probably because the freshness subtly breaks through in the base, the fragrance doesn't lose its character. For my part, I can easily detect and appreciate the "Sailing" character - and that's truly not common with many other contemporary fragrances! In this formulation, it's a solid, masculine scent that may not withstand every somewhat stiff breeze, but it certainly has adequate projection for home use. I also find the longevity quite successful for a fresh scent, lasting just under eight hours.

I find it refreshing that "Sailing" rides the wave of fresh summer fragrances while still managing to stand out. Certainly, Moschino hasn't created a milestone here, and against the team from "Luna Rossa," it won't score many stage victories, but this fragrance is definitely worth a test.

Mint with a hint of sea breeze
For me, an all-time classic, just fresh, citrusy, and great on hot days. Sillage and longevity are average.

Fresh, aquatic, gentle. Nothing special, but a great solid scent for warmer days. Absolutely fine for the price.
