Friends Men Moschino 2005 Eau de Toilette

Well hello there, Friends. Aren't you a Petitgrain/Bergamot BOMB if there ever was one. Wow, I love the green aromatic citrus punch of this one, its exhilarating.

It opens with green citrus leaves, peels, rinds, and zest. Dare I say it is zesty. There is nothing sweet about this one, and that's fine for me, as it is a welcome diversion from the ubiquitous candied citrus.

I agreed with misstral that there is indeed a detectable lovage note (which I can vouch for as I am acquainted with the delightfully pungent lovage root essential root) essential oil. I can't speak for others, but I respond favorably to this contrast to the bright citrus, as it gives sort of a vaguely animalic edge to the composition.

Remarkably, this is a citrus with major longevity; the hesperidic elements are still evident hours in. How'd they do that? Hint: there are some ingenious aromachems that can extend citrus in magical ways.

This is a great Citrus Aromatic fragrance, Bright, Clean, Fresh, Uplifting and Unique. In my opinion It is Citrus Bomb, The Combination of Sour, Bitter and sweet notes : Blood Orange, Bergamot and Green Mandarin are Dominant in this perfume, It smells very pleasant and enjoyable that is similar to niche and natural Quality Perfume. It opens up with like a bit sharp zesty , citrusy and green herbal notes in the background then dry down is green woody. It is perfect for the spring and summer, If you like a new fresh citrusy scent with Italian Style and well-blended composition, You will like this one. It is hard to find and too bad it is discontinued !

I have to agree with my predecessor, Friends starts off very strongly citrus. Well, not just a lemon or bergamot - no, more like a highly concentrated citrus fruit. It is common to add citrus essences in both men's and women's fragrances, but this one is certainly a rarity in its concentration. This is not a light or sweet citrus fruit but rather a sour type as found in nature.
It doesn't smell bad, but the first few minutes are not to everyone's taste - simply too intense. Since I'm not particularly frugal, I have to open the window every time, otherwise I'll suffocate.
Over time, it becomes more pleasant and woody until it reaches a point where it resembles L'Occitane Verveine. The Bourbon vanilla mentioned here is unfortunately incorrect and does not belong here - Please change that!!
The longevity and sillage are in the upper mid-range, it is certainly suitable for strong women, and the price-performance ratio is also right.

I am currently quite eager in my search for a replacement for Geoffrey Beene's Bowling Green. The bottle is running low and, yes, my perfume-loving noses, we simply cannot hold onto scents. And I’m not laying out horrendous sums just to have dusty remnants shipped from the other side of the world.

So the search brought me to Friends. The Italians have managed to charm me from time to time. The fragrance pyramid looked enticing enough... yes, there’s geranium in it, petitgrain, and a lovely green bergamot along with even greener mandarins.

And will we become friends?

The scent starts citrusy, very citrusy... an iced tea at this concentration of lemon would wash away tooth enamel in no time. But luckily, I sprayed it on my wrist and found the scent really pleasant there. However, not much happens after that - no geraniums on the balcony. Unfortunately, my balcony isn’t in Florida, where this scent undoubtedly belongs - by the sea, in the summer, in the USA.

Overall, the scent is quite nice, just okay, really. However, I miss the excitement in the scent development. The longevity is not bad at all for a Hesperide.
