A beautiful, flowery-green chypre

For my Parfumo friend Carsten, I set out to dig out my half-full 25ml bottle of Janine D. Eau de Toilette (my collection is just too big, so much of it is in boxes in the cellar) so that I could send him a bottle for nostalgic reasons :-) To my surprise, the fragrance doesn't really seem to have tipped. And I find it quite successful, even if it is an old school chypre. Only the longevity on my skin could be improved with around 4 to 6 hours and the sillage is rather mediocre.

The top note is briefly dicey, as it smells rather sour like bergamot. However, this impression quickly disappears. Thanks to galbanum, it smells beautifully green, leafy, spicy and balsamic. The scent also reminds me of woodruff. The heart note offers a rather greenish sea of flowers consisting of hyacinths, lily of the valley, iris, violets, lilacs and garden carnations. The base still smells green but also earthy and slightly woody with oakmoss, vetiver and some sandalwood and cedarwood.

Yes, it can definitely do something and really surprised me in a positive way :-)
