Great amber

Ô Hira is my nr. 1 fall-winter scent. I've cut 50 amber scents out of my collection just keeping this and Xerjoff. It's so good that you don't ever need to look for another ambery scent. Sultry, a bit salty, animalic, it's divine.

Sent it back the third day

Bought a 50ml bottle- new.

It reminded me of Church incense, during Mass.
Lasted 1 hour on the skin- completly gone after.
It's a one note perfume. My nose didn't detect anything else other than incense.
It' s interesting, but not enough to garnish the price tag. Some say you can layer it- at the price it asks, I' d expect it to be the main attraction.
Heavily unisex, more in the 50+ years of age (maybe because of the incense) .
It lacks something- maybe a red wine decay, and call it 'Pope' s breakfast' .
I had no desire to wait for it to macerate, at 680$ for 100ml, so I' ve sent it back the third day.
Total disappointment. I guess if you like incense so much, you could worship it- otherwise, spend it on something better- like 100ml of a FM bottle rather than 50ml of Ô Hira

The purest amber accord

The diamond of the SHL 777 collection. The most incredible and precious fragrance, yet one of the most challenging to understand and review. Undoubtedly, it is the most unique, pure, and mystical amber accord I have ever experienced. The only officially listed note is fossilized amber, a primitive, primordial concept that this fragrance aims to evoke.

In my experience wearing it, they have succeeded: it is something sensational and indescribable, made possible through the layering of amber accords (vanilla, labdanum, benzoin) with more refined ingredients. Lucas has masterfully brought out the multiple nuances of this fragrance, intrinsically connected in a continuous oscillation that leads to a harmonious interplay of its many facets. I perceive something sweet, almost boozy at first, then resinous, leathery, and with aromatic hints, then balsamic... all tied together by a mystical yet never austere incense thread, with outstanding smokiness and a distinct animalic note that I can only appreciate in this creation. It’s a composition that seems simple on the surface but is anything but. Suitable for various occasions, though not versatile—not for everyday use and not for everyone. This fragrance requires a certain style and awareness; it elevates you like no other to an unparalleled dimension.

The longevity is phenomenal, and the sillage is present but never overwhelming. A diamond, I would say, not only within the SHL collection but in the entire global perfumery landscape.

Absolutely gorgeous resinous scent

Totally unisex

One of the best Amber scents with very unique SHL’s dna - this is a little bit balsamic, warming and calming, even spiritual. It’s a little bit smoky and earthy and the whole composition feels like it’s wrapped in heavenly honeyed veil.

What makes this different from other SHL’s spiritual creations is the extraordinary warmth. Many of his scents has colder tones compared to this one despite of balsams and resins. I would describe for example Black Gemstone and Mortal Skin with a silvery spark and O’Hira has definitely a golden shine over it. This has as well an animalic side which some people may find intimidating. I think it just makes this more gorgeous.

What comes to the notes it’s not easy to find some exact list and in many sources has been mentioned only “Fossilized layered Amber”. This is anyway quite complex scent with many different nuances and that “Layered Amber” hides inside a hefty dose of different notes. Those are changing along with the weather and warmth of the skin.

•Gently leathery undertone from Labdanum
•Woody notes
•Pyrogenic Styrax / Tolu Balsam, dark and rich balsams and resins here are undeniable bringing that extraordinary warmth together with
•Cinnamon
•Tonka bean and torrefied Vanilla
•Musk which turns into a little bit dirty direction (it’s subtle though) so there might be Castoreum as well.

This is evocative, captivating and mesmerizing scent with oriental style.

Smell of lost tales

One of the most beautiful and refined amber fragrances to my nose, the smell of nostalgia and lost tales, O Hira beautifully captures labdanum in all it’s facets, the warm sweet resinous feel, light leathery underdone, the slight animalic qualities, although in O Hira they are amplified with an airy dusty quality paired with woody nuances. In a perfect balance of ingredients, the warm “cinnamon” tonka complements the labdanum, which softens the hard edges and making it more easier to wear, nonetheless, this is not exactly an easy going amber fragrance, which is why, is one of my favorite ambers for a long time, the dusty, old quality, like an old trunk, full of stories when opened, old photographs and diaries, bring back memories you didn’t even knew you had.
