For Her Whatever

I'm not a big fan of the original For Her EDT (black bottle). There's something about it that is just too overwhelming and loud to my nose, that turns dirty and sweaty on my skin, that I just can't deal with. It's funny because I often read others describe it as an inoffensive, clean musk for every day, which couldn't be further from my perception. Even funnier is that other fragrances with a similar musk note are a mixed bag for me and the line between like and dislike is extremely fine. So, I wasn't particularly interest in trying this flanker, but I got a free sample.

And... it's fine! Pleasant even!
You can definitely smell the For Her DNA here. Forever has the same sultry musk note. The overall impression is different to me though. Lighter, fluffier, more floral, even a bit sparkly. The dominant orange blossom of the EDT is gone, the flowers in this are creamier and smoother. I like the tropical sweetness of the frangipani and the apricot-like tone of the osmanthus, and I also smell a phantom citrus note that makes everything fresher.
These are all nice additions. It's still not a scent I'd want to have on me all day, but I would enjoy it on someone else in passing.

I'm just wondering if it was really necessary to release this in 2023. There are not only countless flankers in the Narciso Rodriguez lineup, but also hundreds of similar fragrances by other brands. For Her Forever doesn't feel like a big revelation, it's more like "Yeah, whatever, another take on this scent profile, groundbreaking". I would recommend it to someone in search of a softer version of For Her, but if you're not specifically looking for that, you won't miss much if you skip this.

I Shouldn't Have Bothered

After all the hype given to this fragrance it has been my most anticipated perfume ever, and also my biggest disappointment. It just smells like a much lighter version of the original For Her edt. Where are all the added florals? I certainly couldn't find them here. Reading that note profile I was certain this would be a beautiful tropical floral fragrance, which was a genre missing in the Narciso lineup. I was counting the days when it would be available in the US, but it certainly wasn't worth the wait. How did Sonia Constant manage to make it smell almost the same as For Her edt when she used a somewhat different note profile? I find that very strange. Not that this is bad fragrance by any means, and is actually quite pretty, but neither is it different enough from For Her edt for me to get a bottle.

Now I have to defend this one...

I have read and watched several reviews and have the feeling that this fragrance is not received very well by most people or leaves them indifferent because it is quite similar to the EdT. I understand where this impression comes from, but hold on a second: NR For Her Forever just bursts with floral elegance, the tuberose and frangipani underscore this beautiful musk bouquet in the background, and I can still smell the wonderfully creamy, soft drydown days later on my scarf. In my opinion, the EdT cannot compete with the sweetness here; I find it stiffer, harder, and cooler. Forever is floral, soft, sweet, and absolutely suitable for everyday wear. I especially see it in spring and summer and can hardly wait to call the 100 ml my own soon.

Conclusion: for me, this is the most beautiful Narciso flanker ever created. A masterpiece for the 20th anniversary.

Maybe I'm becoming more mellow with age, or I'm just expanding my personality again. The fact is, I suddenly find a Narciso appealing. Maybe even really appealing.
I already liked Musc Noir Rose, even though it was a nostalgic memory that built the bridge for me. But because I liked it, I was tempted to spray For Her Forever on myself. And I'm impressed.
I can also smell the similarity to the other two For Her fragrances, the EdP and the EdT, which has already been mentioned several times here. And yes, I would initially confirm that the scent seems weaker, less intense. BUT that is precisely what makes it strong for me.
Both the EdP and EdT of For Her are hardly bearable for me and candidates for headaches. I find them intrusive, artificial, and often overly dosed. For Her Forever is different. The lady comes around the corner much more relaxed, effortlessly exuding a weightless lightness that is underlined by soft musk. She doesn't overpower the wearer but adapts, is present, yet doesn't need to push herself to the forefront.
The white flowers complement each other excellently, especially the jasmine, which I find beautiful, and I can also distinctly smell the gardenia. The scent is not sweet but fresh and light.
I need to test the longevity and sillage more closely, but so far, I'm satisfied with it. It doesn't always have to be loud.

For Her Forever and the Missing Ending

The women's and men's fragrance lines from Narciso Rodriguez have accompanied me for many years now. Even though the most formative scents from Narciso are no longer available, I can recall their scent from memory with my eyes closed, and with those memories come the associated feelings. Ultimately, this is how we all feel about our fragrances and memories, right? So, I don’t have to think long about what I associate with the “Narciso For Her” line. There was a time when my then-girlfriend would ritualistically spray “For Her Musc Collection” on my scarf before my motorcycle tours, so that I would return to her safely. Yes, I exclusively associate this perfume with that time and that woman. It remains the best from Narciso. But now there is also “For Her Forever”.

Undoubtedly, Narciso has somewhat overdone it with the number of variations of this scent, and sometimes the results have not been so impressive. In the end, I’m not surprised, because connecting to the past while simultaneously creating something new is difficult. Somehow, Sonia Constant has managed to do just that with this mysterious, creamy musk carried by sweet floral white blossoms. Narciso truly means emotions for me again in 2023, and since the scent has only been on the market since this year, this review can only relate to quite current emotions, aside from the scent itself. There was briefly the question of whether it would be better to approach it more objectively and soberly. Well, I tried - and deleted everything.
In the end, I have no choice but to describe this scent with all the emotions, with everything that comes to mind and all the thoughts associated with it. Otherwise, this review would just be a foolish attempt at repression and wouldn’t even begin to represent what one would call the whole truth.

And what is the whole truth now? The truth is, For Her Forever represents happy moments when you feel the “we”, when with every meter and every minute spent together, you feel that intense connection, when you can express words and feelings without speaking, when you can say everything with just touches and glances. Forever means longing, sensuality, eroticism, passion, and - above all else - an intensely felt love for that person, who is ultimately what this is all about. A love that makes me feel happiness like a lovesick teenager in one moment and, in the next moment, makes me realize how serious everything really is - namely, that you can’t and don’t want to imagine a future without all of this and that person (damn it) forever.

Yet the future seems anything but certain right now. Clarity and determination repeatedly swap sides with uncertainty, doubt, and heartache. The current reality blocks much of what was recently counted among the happiest moments in life. And where does all of this go now? Forever preserved in a bottle?
No, amidst this reality, there is still this scent, representing everything that was recently, what is currently, and what will be. Can you smell it, can you feel it? It fights with you and for you for your future. It shows you that there can be another reality besides the current one. It shows you that behind difficult decisions, which would be associated with losses and great efforts, a beautiful future still awaits.

Yes, it’s not easy right now, but I won’t give up that easily. After all, it’s currently called “For her forever”. And besides, a man once wrote: “In the end, everything will be okay, and if it’s not okay, it’s not the end yet!”
