Rich and velvety
Spicy, rich, earthy coconut, with a tiny bit of smokiness from the tobacco leaf. Linear over time since it’s an oil, and boy does it last a long time too. Really unusual scent profile - it’s like nothing else I’ve owned or smelled!
It’s very opulent and warming in the winter, like a hug from someone who’s just arrived to visit you from the tropics.
I can see why it’s called onyx - it reminds me a little of when I was in Costa Rica and had a hot stone massage in a spa there. It does have a smoothness about it that evokes a dark stone. Later, when I came home from Costa Rica to a drier climate, I remember opening my suitcase and a beautiful, heavy humidity wafted out of it… something about this reminds me of that because it is heavy and creamy feeling.
I once made the mistake of wearing it to work out, and won’t be doing that again haha- it started to border on the skanky. Although, honestly there’s also something sexy about it when it gets that way.
