To me,
Tuberóza Extrait de Parfum seems like the epitome of a white floral fragrance. And although admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of white florals,
Tuberóza Extrait de Parfum is one of the few of such blends that I can appreciate, but can hardly wear, as it leans in too feminine for me (as with most other white floral scents).
Nonetheless, what does it smell like? Well, immediately upon spraying, it is made clear what direction this fragrance takes. An intensive dose of a soapy, slightly citrusy orange blossom, mixed with the forever complex ylang ylang - floral, balsamic, sweet - creates an intoxicating opening very reminiscent of banana, which lingers throughout most of the wearing. If you try hard enough, you might also pick the mugwort hidden in the background with its touch of green, minty, aromatic accords.
Once at the heart, we receive the bouquet, composed of jasmine, gardenia, Mexican tuberose, and tagetes. The unmistakable floral sweetness of the jasmine, the Mexican Tuberose that accentuates the intense floral aura, the gardenia and its zesty floral scent with a hint of greenness, and the tagetes with a fresher floral burst - all blended in a intensely rich, creamy, fragrant odor that makes it so difficult to tell each apart.
As things gently dry down, some powdery muskiness pushes through, hardly strong enough to stick out in the white floral field that we find ourselves into. Then, a smooth, slightly sweet warmth with the faintest woody backbone shows up, along with a touch of balsamic softness. These are the sandalwood and amberwood notes at the base, which frankly, are quite subtle, being easily overpowered by the overall floral composition. As for vetiver, I barely get any; most notes after the opening are quite the challenge to pinpoint on their own. Nevertheless, if it wasn't clear by now, anyone with a white floral affair will most likely adore
Tuberóza Extrait de Parfum. The quality is pretty great, with a smooth blending. However, a little linear. It's most definitely a feminine-leaning scent, but I think that men can also get away with it rather easily (not me, though).
And here's why: its soft projection and short-lived lastingness. On my skin,
Tuberóza Extrait de Parfum turned from a lively, intensely fragrant bouquet of dozens of white flowers to a single stem with few petals left dangling by the 4 hour mark. Many others seem to find
Tuberóza Extrait de Parfum as quite long-lasting around here, but it's just not the same for me, even after numerous try-outs. And projection is also hardly impressive, although not exactly inappropriate. I don't know about you, but I find overpowering floral fragrances that you can sense on someone from 5 feet away simply nauseating and headache-inducing. And so, given the strong emphasis on the floral accords here, a softer, more intimate projection seems the better fit. And on me, I got about 1 foot at best for the first half an hour or so, after which it would rapidly settle to a less-than-half-a-foot bubble around me. So indeed, you cannot call this good projection in any universe, but I'd argue that it's quite fitting. It's like it invites you to discover this beautiful bouquet from up close.
In terms of occasions, I feel that
Tuberóza Extrait de Parfum would make a solid case for itself in pretty much any context. Work, school, dressed-up events, dates... and any other place where you'd want a pleasant, but subtle floral scent. Definitely not clubbing or partying, as not only it might be too soft for those seeking to grab attention, but it is also not the type of fragrance that fits those messy, loud contexts. This is intensely floral, yet still delicate and sophisticated, and it should be worn as such.
But in the end, I can't get myself to give it any more than a 7.5/10 in terms of scent, simply because I'm just not the biggest white florals enjoyer. That doesn't mean I hate it. On the contrary, I'd enjoy an ever so dim whiff of this composition in the air, but just not coming off my skin. It doesn't fit my style, aside from also leaning in heavily feminine, and so I don't really enjoy wearing it. But if you find it the other way around for yourself, and you can justify its steep price tag, then I suppose you should grab onto this bouquet.
