What Fun It Is To Wear Cola!
From the three teenage boy perfumes by Nobile 1942, Cola is definitely the most attractive! It is hard to believe that a perfumer can create a scent that smells just as Coca-Cola tastes – let's say, Nobile 1942 comes quite near to achieve that goal. Actually, I had a Coke Zero when I wore it today, and it gave me even the impression that there was more Cola smell in my perfume than taste in that beverage!

It is actually that cola note which is dominating the fragrance. There are citruses around it, especially lime, that give it a fresh appeal. Some white musk in the base might give it some volume, and it is contrasting extremely well against the dry cedar note that can be found in all three fragrances of the A la Corte del Re Cedro Atlas series. So, not much complexness at all, besides the cola accord.

There are currently only 5 fragrances in the Parfumo database that contain such a note. I dare say that presumably nothing comes as close to Coke as this one. I also own Lubin's Bluff, but that is quite far away from that concept.

The A la Corte del Re perfumes are all highly diluted – which may be okay if you give it into the hands of the very young future perfumistas. I had to spray a lot, but finally, I achieved a decent sillage and longevity. In their instructive brochure that comes along with the set, Nobile 1942 warns their young audience not to leave Cola in the bathroom where brothers and fathers may take advantage of the situation. I think they are right to do so!

But Cola also shows us the limitations of niche brands. This wonderful set is hardly available on the net. A few Italian perfume shops may have it. Nobile 1942 has absolutely no market power to bring such a brilliant perfume forward to a wider audience. Supposed, the supply chain of the ingredients is suitable for mass production, what if PepsiCo or Coca-Cola would order it as a side product, in reasonable Eau de Toillette strength? I have no doubts that it would provide a big extra profit! It is a capitalist myth that the market always provides the best for the consumer – in fact, we never get the best.

I very much recommend a blind buy of that set – if you really should not like it, you can always give it away to your sons and nephews.

Indeed like Cola
Thank you Apicius for this sample, unfortunately it took a while for me to write the comment because the sprayer was acting up and then I went skiing.
This scent caused me some problems, as it indeed smells like Cola. This led to my nose not being able to perceive it shortly after application, but what I smelled for the first 10 minutes truly does smell like Cola. Whether one wants to smell like that is up to each person to decide, but in my eyes, this is not a perfume but a nice gimmick.
Regarding the rating, I must say that I would give the scent 50% as I perceive it, which is mainly because it does not smell like a perfume and fades quickly. However, since my nose got so used to the scent after 10 minutes that I can no longer perceive it and therefore cannot describe the drydown, I feel unable to give a meaningful rating, so I will leave it at that.

Hard to find but a must-have for me. Great fun to wear a Cola accord!
