A light, airy, effervescent citrus/vanilla.

For me citrus/vanilla scents are my favourite scent profile, along with gourmands. I have tested so many! (You can see all my comparisons under my review of Unknown Pleasures) and have just purchased Dulcis in Fundo for summer (which I absolutely love!) Il Colore del Vento might just be the better option for high heat and the summer citrus vanilla I’ve been searching for! I also love the inspiration behind the scent, which made it instantly more appealing.

Il Colore del Vento (the colours of the wind) is a light gourmand. It opens with an airy mix of vanilla, bright citrus, a nice balance of sweetness, and a touch of coriander which gives the scent a cool, slightly limey freshness. As it dries down I get a light, sweet, candied fruit smell with hints of zingy ginger and a little spiciness. It isn’t overpowering or heavy in any way. I get zero coffee and no cardamom (thank god!) but there is a slight effervescent quality to the scent in the mid, which I guess is due to the champagne note. This would work all year round and in high heat. Very well done, very high quality, no nasty base notes and at quite a cheap price. Beautiful 10/10

In my opinion this isn’t similar to Lira, which is cakey, very sugary and a bit heavy. I also don’t find it similar to Akro Bake either, which I find has quite an ambroxan smelling dry down. To me this is closest to Chilli Candy Crush, but still very different and unique. The more I smell this, the more I love it.

Perfect Breakfast Buffet

Young rays of sunshine wake me up. Softly nestled on white linens, I remember the here and now in the hotel and the breakfast booked the day before. With hurried steps, I set off, out the door, press the elevator button, wait, traverse several floors and - Bing - the aluminum doors open and I enter the lobby.

Here begins my fragrance journey with Il Colore del Vento.

I cannot yet see the doors to the restaurant area, but at first, I notice the homemade refined water carafes, which are adorned with ginger and lemon. The impression lasts only briefly, as quickly the coffee notes and the scent of sweet dishes capture my attention.

I enter the room and find everything I had suspected to be true and also discover one or two guests who are already welcoming the day with champagne. The sweet notes continue to prevail and remain persistently present. It is not a single scent that can be perceived, but a constant shift of sweet dishes, warm honey notes, and finally very soft butter. It is like enjoying a warm pancake with maple syrup, but not dominated by sugar, rather in a sweet-buttery balance.

Excellent. Interesting notes with a strong progression. Sweet and yet noble.

The Perfect Lemon Cake from Trieste

It was love at first sniff. I discovered Il Colore del Vento for the first time on vacation in Trieste, in a charming little niche perfumery, where the owner smiled while spraying it and said, “This is fun!” And she was so right...!

The fragrance is simply beautiful, from start to finish. Zesty, gourmand, delicious. It fits almost any occasion, radiant in summer, warming in winter, but it's perfect in autumn.

Recently, a colleague asked me in the afternoon what smelled so delicious here. “Did someone bake waffles?” No, it was "Il Colore del Vento | Nobile 1942," which I had sprayed on at 6:15 in the morning.
So we’ve also immediately clarified the question of longevity and sillage. The fragrance lasts quite a long time and has a decent, yet pleasant sillage.

Forget Lira, Devotion & Co.! This is the perfect lemon cake.
At the opening, a juicy lemon shines, accompanied by a fine spiciness from ginger and pepper, a bit of warmth from cardamom, all very subtle and harmonious. Then comes this sparkling champagne effect, followed by a hint of coffee and caramel. Sweet, but never sticky, probably thanks to the fresh bergamot that perfectly balances the fragrance.
In the drydown, it gets really delicious. Butter, caramel, and a soft warmth that reminds you of freshly baked waffles.

The fragrance naturally moved in with me the same day, and I have not regretted it.

Il Colore del Vento is a fragrance that simply makes you happy.

I am in love.

from Citronella Candle to Italian Café

Il Colore del Vento initially reminds one of a citronella candle when first sprayed, but this extreme lemon kick quickly fades, thank goodness, as I find the scent almost unpleasant in the first few minutes; the spritziness of the champagne combined with citronella makes one wrinkle their nose.

Fortunately, I tested it on my skin and it was able to develop..

Relatively quickly, Il Colore del Vento transforms: the citrus freshness settles like a fine veil, and beneath it reveals a creamy-warm depth. Now you find yourself on an autumn afternoon on the terrace of a beautiful, elegant Italian café, the sun shining in your face. Fresh butter pastries, cakes, and a warm crème brûlée pass by, with a hint of coffee wafting in the background - soft, lightly roasted, never dominant, more like a quiet companion, just like the lemon now. A cozy blanket wraps around you, giving you a wonderful feeling of security.

This contrast of lemony clarity and gourmand warmth makes the scent so fascinating for me. It is airy yet deep, bright yet cozy. A fragrance that begins with ease and ends in softness, like a gust of wind transforming into an embrace? Perhaps that's where the color of the wind comes from. But it could also simply be the wind from the Italian café ;-)

For me, an absolute feel-good scent, very pleasing, for gourmand fans. As for the sillage, I can say that I hardly notice the scent on myself after a while, but it is never completely gone. I left my lightly perfumed clothes from the previous day in the dressing room and entered it the next morning, and there it was again, completely present: the delicious Italian café!
