Retro gorgeous!
Fantasme is an atypical fragrance that reminds me of the glorious fruity florals of the 80s era. I could almost say that it's also a gourmand on my skin.

I can see why people would call it bubblegummy. It has these delicious juicy fruits in the opening that carry all the way to the heart. Pineapple, raspberry, and peach are the most prominent at this stage.

In the heart phase, I get sweet/wet fruits, jasmines, violets, and roses. Very feminine and rich with depth and dimension.

The base is a sweet floral tending towards vanillic gourmand.

To sum it up: Bright flowers, sweet fruits, and creamy vanilla with a mild hint of green notes to keep it fresh from first spritz to 8 hours later. It's like being surrounded by candy clouds with my feet on a patch of damp grass.

Seriously... What's not to love? :o)

Powder Flowers in Syrup
I don't really know how to describe the opening. "Fantasme" starts for me like a kind of sweet plasticine, which I don't mean negatively and find not unpleasant at all. The expected powderiness of the violet seems to have transformed into a kind of creamy, soft mass with the fruity notes.
"Fantasme" has a noticeable "body" at first. I feel like I could "knead" the scent, and peach and pineapple juice would be dripping from the beige-woody and violet-powdery mass.

At first, I was positively curious; the scent seemed to lean towards peachy, soft-floral, and powdery (violet with a bit of velvety light sandalwood), but in the next hour, it develops into a sweet-fruity scent that, in my opinion, becomes increasingly sweet throughout the progression.
For a while, the fine woody and powdery environment, in combination with a surprisingly fresh rose, manages to create a calmer counterbalance to the sweet fruits. But after a maximum of 2 hours, sweet fruit syrup overwhelms everything else.
You might like it. I don't.
What ultimately turned me off was a metallic note that reliably appeared on my skin with every test and gradually intensified until I felt like I had sprayed canned peaches and canned pineapples on myself.

For me, therefore, it's a syrupy scent, balancing hard on the edge of being overly sweet and sticky, where the fruits come across as too loud and far too dominant for my taste. Additionally, the metallic notes create a piercing and slightly bitter undertone.
Such a shame; the rest of the scent environment would otherwise be pleasantly powdery-velvety floral.

"Fantasme" reminds me of some fragrances by Salvador Dali, which also struck me as overly penetratingly fruity and sweet. I especially think of "Le Roy Soleil."

Love at First Scent
Curiously, I open the bottle, whose appearance briefly and very faintly reminds me of the Taj Mahal. "Aha, an oriental," I think to myself. Should I or shouldn't I? Cats are curious, so I allow myself to indulge. Just a quick sniff, right? Not at all. I can't distinguish the individual components, except for... there was something? Deep down: sandalwood. Musk. A cozy smile.
A bazaar in ancient Persia. No, more like a harem, where the favorite women are currently bathing, oiling, and anointing themselves. And truly: I want to immerse myself in this heavy, sweet scent, to bathe in it as if there were no tomorrow. But that would surely be too much for my surroundings. The scent lingers in the nose; how long, remains to be seen. But very intense, sensual, and erotic. No doubt: I am in love.

This belonged to my grandma and it's so like her...sweet, warm and radiant, charming ...confident, stylish, vivid ...joyfully fruity, lol.

KN: Peach right on the nose!
HN: Hey, the peach is still there! But not so aggressive anymore…
B: Powdery musk peach is now quite tame.

Pierre Bourdon almost always composes great fragrances. Here’s a particularly lush fruity floral from 1992 with a lot of "drinkability."

Just one sniff and I'm back to the place where I discovered TLF. Warm, oriental, deep soul, nectar-like, noble, fine, gold, 1001!

Very fruity -sweet start, with a bitter sweetness as it develops. Violet and iris clearly dominate, until only musk remains at the end.
