Bloody forest
This perfume was my first real niche-love. I almost dropped a tear, when i tried it at the first time. You know that feeling, when something is so beautiful, that it is touching, and gets you out of the reality for a minute. Silky, smooth woods, wet soil, and a hint of the metallic taste of blood. A perfectly balanced scent, sometimes feels more cool, sometimes more warm. I can wear it any time, and i will wear it until the day of my death.

Century Copy
I’ve been racking my brain all day about how to start this comment.

For example, I could have mentioned that I saw Deep Purple live last night. Yes, the ones with “Smoke On The Water” and the century-defining guitar riff as an intro. However, the concert was outrageously loud and distorted. Without earplugs, you run a good risk of suffering a serious hearing loss. Moreover, it was evident that the gentlemen of Deep Purple, or what remains of them, are not necessarily getting any younger.
I was a bit disappointed.
Well, that probably wouldn’t have interested many perfume lovers.

Or I could have reported that Fortuna Düsseldorf won at home in their own stadium for the first time in quite a while yesterday. Two great goals and three important points - and even against HSV, who have been getting stronger in recent weeks.
For me, it would be a small century sensation if my Fortuna could stay in the Bundesliga.
I was certainly very pleased with this victory.
Well, that probably would have interested even less.

Or I could have written that my car has been in the workshop for more than two weeks now. The turbocharger had to be replaced, several hoses and the glow plugs renewed, and the engine cleaned. An overhaul of the fuel injectors is also now due. I haven’t been mobile for a long time, and various appointments are completely unmanageable. Even though I know the workshop manager well and I’m relatively spared from high costs, I expect a bill that’s almost a century in the making.
That’s more than annoying.
Well, that probably wouldn’t have interested anyone at all.

So I must say, short and sweet, how it is: 03 Century is a clone of Dior Homme. Although a little fresher at the beginning due to the cypress and mint, it later becomes just as soft, warm, and rounded through patchouli and a decent dose of amber.
Surely there may be more nuanced differences compared to Dior Homme that I can’t fully capture, yet for me, 03 Century is clearly a copy.

So, if you prefer a more expensive version of the original, feel free to grab this one. All others can stick with it and make a century bargain in comparison.

A Century Fragrance...
..is it really? But like with Byredo, I somehow like them all at Odin..or rather, there hasn't been one that I didn't like..but none have shot me into space yet! Very high and homogeneous quality standard, though it always seems to lack a little bit of that final kick.
With Century, it's not much different. Century surprises in the top note with mint, which delivers an extraordinary combination with the woods. Even though it has a slight toothpaste note. It has a light metallic coolness that I always enjoy in fragrances...it could have easily been the start of a Serge Lutens fragrance from the Eau series. But warmth quickly comes into play..warm and slightly powdery..minimally creamy...a beautiful patchouli-amber mix with a hint of incense. I like it extraordinarily well! The myrrh also leaves a slightly sweet mark here. Since Myrrh Imperial, I've really been into this note. Like with almost all Odins, it's more of a scent tapestry, rather than individual notes standing out particularly over time..always fine, noble, and also a bit transparent..somehow airy. This is also the case with Roam, Semma, and many others..and always possesses a certain degree of style and understatement...like a quiet beauty..that doesn't need all the ostentatious fuss. Odin's fragrances always radiate this calm and grandeur, this subtlety, fully aware of their own beauty. It draws me in like people who are at peace with themselves, while it feels too "loud" in me. However, since I often like "loud fragrances," the Odins come into question for me far too rarely. They actually deserve better.

The longevity is comparable to the others, rather upper-middle class with 5-6 hours. The sillage is dignifiedly discreet..too discreet for me..especially on days when there is a lot of stillness within me..when there is calm.
Conclusion: Even though it doesn't qualify as a purchase candidate for me (due to longevity and sillage), it is still a great and highly recommendable fragrance, like most from the line, with a minimal feminine touch!
For all who can see the inner beauty in something....

Dior Homme Variant by Odin
Certainly not a masterpiece, but quite noteworthy is Century. It is a simple scent. Only the opening promises an oriental-broad direction, which combined with mint notes even seems a bit daring. Quickly, the actual theme of this perfume takes over - amber.

Here, it is presented in its western, rather dry variant. As such, it is an inconspicuous background for many fragrances, and only recently does it seem that a certain trend is emerging to place this scent at the center of puristically appearing perfumes. Prada's Amber pour Homme Intense - which has been stripped of its floral opulence - would be another example of such a naked amber.

But the bridge to the Prada scent lasts only briefly. Upon reaching the base - and this happens here unfortunately very quickly - Century turns once again in a different direction. Suddenly, powderiness joins the amber, along with a note that at least makes me think a bit of stained paper. This is also nothing unfamiliar - we recognize this impression from Dior Homme and the also somewhat subdued variant Dior Homme Intense.

In this state, one could certainly say that Odin with Century is completing the path that Dior began with Dior Homme Intense: a kind of reduction to the essentials, while remaining unremarkably pleasant. The perfume lover has nothing to fear from a developed lipstick accord here, an iris note does not really come through and is not even mentioned in the pyramid. One might find all this boring, or precisely for that reason appreciate it. Dior Homme is already a controversial scent, in its manifestation as a men's fragrance somewhat borderline and definitely demanding attention. All of that is not true for Century; it would thus be the perfect Dior Homme variant for the office.

Therefore, this Century can especially be recommended to fans of Dior Homme and Dior Homme Intense - Century is useful in the best sense. I myself will probably not buy it. I appreciate the lipstick accord in the original Dior Homme and prefer to wear it rarely, but with pleasure. I neither need the John Wayne version “Intense,” nor the office-appropriate variant presented here with Century. Both are, for me, lazy compromises. Does one really have to strip an exceptional fragrance - which is admittedly somewhat demanding - of its corners and edges in any of its variants?

Ambrissimo
Since I am not familiar with Dior Homme, I cannot make any comparisons. Yes, I know, I probably belong to a minority here, but I hardly care. This way, I can at least analyze this fragrance without bias and I am not at risk of measuring it against "everybody's darling".
Century is not bad, but it doesn't exactly blow me away. At first, it is far too weak for me; I have to bring my nose very close to the skin, or maybe spray it a third time just to form an opinion. The top note was nice, spicy-minty, but faded within seconds; after that, I had serious difficulties perceiving the fragrance at all. So I sprayed again and waited for the heart note to come through properly. This was then slightly smoky-woody, a bit powdery, and clearly leaned towards amber. This direction was maintained until the end, without changing much. Spicy amber until the last moment, nice, but nothing new.

Dreamy balsamic resin scent, primarily amber but also myrrh, sweetness balanced by freshness - a sense of security to spray on.

A hint of warm mint is embedded in soft-warm (needle) woodiness. To me, there's also something gourmandish (tonka?) in there.

Well, if that doesn't smell like Oud right when you spray it, hmm???? Woody-spicy-good. It reminds me a lot of "Ameer Al Oudh" at first.

I mainly perceive myrrh here and also a bit of iris, somewhat reminiscent of Bois d'Argent, even more so of Georges Rech Homme.

Bois d'Argent, is that you? It definitely reminds me of Dior with its elegant light woodiness and powdery feel-good aura. Very pleasant.

Reminds me immediately of Kilian's Taste of Heaven, just with a whiskey note instead of lavender.
