The robot with H.P. Baxxter megaphone!
I don't want to fall into the usual trap! I also don't want to say: Well, the bottle says it all. No, I want to be fair here! *Sweat*

Okay, tried! Sorry, the bottle and I - no! We're not going to be buddies! But hey, it's always the inner values that count in a fragrance. Let's get down to it:

Phantom Parfum simply turns the values of the already known EdT to "To infinity and much further"! Anyone who had hoped that the perfumers would correct or eradicate possible "mistakes" from the EdT will be disappointed. Phantom has always been roaring. In the case of Phantom Parfum, the famous Scooter megaphone from H.P. Baxxter was stapled firmly in front of the little robot. Which means that you have to really like the "Phantom" DNA not to go completely insane here.

Phantom Parfum is MORE of everything. This fragrance screams at you. Loudest right after you spray it on, but it doesn't quiet down until the end. And that brings us to the next reason why you have to like DNA: the fragrance doesn't change. I know of few fragrances that are so blatantly linear. "Phantom" wants to rock unchanged for 10 hours - roar like Scooter. Hyper, hyper!

The mixture of rhubarb and vanilla outshines everything. In the first hour, it is very similar to the impression of a plastic mango. I don't notice the patchouli or the cedar listed in the fragrance notes.

I really, really tried! But as a conclusion to this test, I'm afraid I have to say that Phantom Parfum and I probably don't go together. I can stand it, yes, but only in very small doses. For those who like synthetic fruit bombs - this fragrance is sure to trigger a sugar shock joy hop. I think on the right Dude this fragrance can certainly come good. I'm definitely not the right Dude!

Almost classic for a Paco Rabanne fragrance: overspraying is just as unforgivable with this fragrance as it is with 1 Million Eau de Toilette.

I really don't like it when people bash designer fragrances. But this fragrance won't win me over. I'm probably also too old for this overall package. But for brothers who are just discovering their olfactory nose, who are just putting the Lego stuff away in the attic and who are about to shave for the first time - Phantom Parfum certainly has added value for them.

Let's just look at this fragrance for what it is: a link between childhood and gentle adulthood. If you look at it that way, the playful little robot bottle doesn't seem so silly anymore. This fragrance will roar loudly over the stink of many puberty-induced teenage children's rooms. Many mothers and fathers will thank Paco Rabanne!

And...I still finished on a positive note. Phew...that's the way I like it!

If I were a child, I would have to love him
Today I was out and about in the city and ended up at Douglas with my younger son (8).
As he was very patient when I tried a little, he was then allowed to choose a fragrance that we both tested. Of course, the look of the Falkons plays a major role and his enthusiasm for lightning bolts, fists and revolver drums was hard to beat. But suddenly a "boah, there's a black robot! That's for us men and the one with glitter is for the women!!!". A short moment later, we had the Phantom on a test strip and after his "it smells like fruit as candy" he didn't have it on his jacket either. Mom should smell what he wants for his birthday this year.
A straight 10 across the board and if the pocket money had been enough, I would have bought it straight away, but then there was his father with his verdict. At the beginning, you are really overwhelmed by a fruity sweetness and this remains for me the whole time. We're talking about artificial fruit here, definitely not natural. In the drydown you can sense the vanilla, but for me the sweetness is still the dominant factor. I don't think the longevity is bad at all and I was still wearing the fragrance on my son's jacket after several hours. I think the fragrance is okay, but I wouldn't buy it. I like the bottle, kitschy but definitely an eye-catcher.
In terms of season, I would see it in spring or summer, although that probably doesn't matter if you like the scent.

This might be the droid you are looking for!
People really seem to hate the original PHANTOM by Paco Rabanne. By association I bet they'll hate the new Parfum version too. That would be a shame because despite the (allegedly horrid) robot-tle, this is a much different scent profile. A stronger, sweeter, woodier, richer beast of a fragrance.

One caviat stands in the way of a pretty brilliant and highly addicting scent however, and that is Carolina Herrera's BAD BOY. "Bad Boy" is another divisive frag in the community, and it is one I actually love. It's a unique scent and a personal compliment monster. Unfortunately PHANTOM PARFUM is so reminiscent at times to Carolina's top-seller as to nearly be deemed redundant to the uninitiated.

Where PHANTOM PARFUM separates itself from House Herrera is the performance. This juice has real staying power (8-10 hours) and out performs Bad Boy in every regard. It's impressive sillage has already become the talk of my workplace! Also, Bad Boy's more peppery, airey scent burst has been refined with creamier, smoother woods/ vetiver/ vanilla. The rhubarb off the top is just addicting.

This is a quality release from Paco Rabanne. Worth a blind-buy even... for those who are fans of the House and those that do not already own the EDT version of BAD BOY.

Even BAD BOY lovers may want to check out this one for it's stellar performance and (in my opinion) superior smell.

The bottle is really cool too! There. I said it.

Inoffensive sweet vanilla with a nice floral and powdery lavender. Mass appealing scent undeserving of the dislike it gets among the frag community.

Significantly better than the OG. Still sweet but not so sticky and almost a faint leather note. Pleasant designer
