Nerone Pantheon 2024

I never heard of this brand before last week, when I got two samples of them with a purchase. Nerone is the first one I tried. It hit a sweet spot for me, literally and figuratively.

Disclaimer: it’s not a very original composition. It mainly consists of raspberry, leather and oud. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s probably Ombre Nomade that inspired many houses to fabricate something similar. I love Ombre Nomade but it always starts to bother me a bit after 12+ hours of strong projection so I’m the last one to complain about inspired-by products.

Upon first spray you’re greeted with a very sweet fruity smell. It be the raspberry / passionfruit cocktail then, sugarcoated by cane sugar. Doesn’t take long before a leather note peeks through. Very nice. Drying down, the oud becomes more and more apparent. Never too loud, never too screechy. Perfectly held in control by the fruity sweetness and some coconut creaminess.

It lasts and lasts, especially on clothes. I enjoyed it two days in a row, with spraying 5 sprays just once. And that’s the thing. I usually hate it when perfume sticks to my clothes too long. But I still found it quite enjoyable the next day.

So this instantly hits the wishlist after two wears.

All'inizio ero davvero stranito, forse l'odore del cuoio mi aveva lasciato un pò perplesso. Ma dopo un pò indossato sulla pelle, mi sono reso conto di indossare un profumo eccezionale. L'oud si sente subito, anche il cuoio fa la sua parte che gli da quei toni leggermente animalici e il tutto è addolcito con il lampone e la maracuja. Consigliatissimo per chi ama i profumi con oud.

I went to Esxece Milan on Saturday…smelled the perfume…took a cab..went to via montenapoleone perfumery (Zhor)..bought it..love at first sight. It has a Ombré Nomade vibe…but richer…smoother. Not superoriginal but sure very pleasant…bought the 50ml cause I have a pretty extensive collection of perfumes..but made a mistake…

Nerone is quite a special fragrance. Special in the sense that it will most likely not appeal to the average Douglas noses, but of course also to those who are not into the rather dark scents.

Here we have a spicy raspberry/passion fruit mix with a decent amount of leather and a touch of oud.

The fragrance starts off directly with this mix of fruity components, this relatively strong spiciness, a bit of smokiness, and above all, a good portion of leather.
The dark, slightly sultry elements are listed in the base, yet I can perceive them as present in the top notes already.

The fruity accords of raspberry and passion fruit really shine in the initial phase.

Over time, the fruity character diminishes more and more, but for my nose, it never completely disappears. However, it does become increasingly sweeter and even almost resinous. The dark facets are still present as well. I find the leather to be somewhat more intense compared to the oud.

Overall, a great fragrance that has certainly convinced me. Nevertheless, it is definitely not for everyone.
