Soir Intense vs. Original vs. Supernova
After I was able to spend a lot of time at home during the first lockdown, I rediscovered my old love for fragrances.
Initially, I enjoyed the usual suspects on YouTube, as the paths to the scent temples were closed. And relatively quickly, I landed on Elysium, one of the best-known mainstream fragrances in the niche genre for beginners like me.
After getting samples of Elysium Cologne and Elysium Parfum, Soir Intense by Parfum Vintage, and Supernova, my amateur nose set out to compare the fragrances.
I would like to emphasize that I love this fragrance DNA, even though there are certainly much more complex scent pyramids. But it just smells good and fresh, and even though for many hardcore perfumistas, the great mass appeal is viewed negatively, it is not for me, as I simply enjoy smelling good and have no problem receiving nice compliments from others for it.
But now back to the actual topic, as I am now relatively often asked how I feel about Soir Intense, since I am still the only owner of this fragrance in the Parfumo family, which will surely change by summer 2021 at the latest.
While Supernova (Dua) comes across as quite aggressive and somewhat synthetic, this is certainly not the case with the original (Elysium), which smells very natural, high-quality, and delicious. And this is exactly what I perceive when I experience Soir Intense. Very natural and harmonious. No trace of synthetic notes, but very high-quality.
And even though this may sound almost blasphemous, in various "blind tastings," both my wife and daughter, as well as some friends of mine, always selected Soir Intense when asked which of the comparison fragrances smells the best and most expensive.
I don't want to go that far, but for me, Soir Intense is definitely on par with Elysium Cologne in terms of scent and far better than its competitor Supernova.
Elysium Cologne is often criticized for its not-so-good performance. And here, Soir Intense also scores again, as it performs significantly better compared to the original.
So, if Elysium is too expensive for you, but you want the same quality with significantly better performance, you should definitely grab this one. And when Parfum Vintage runs promotions, the price is definitely noticeably below 50 percent of the costs. For me, an absolute buying recommendation!
