You Spin My Head Right Round, Right Round
"Carrousel" initially pretends to be a bold citrus mix with a twist. However, one should not be misled or overly impressed by the sharp start, just as one should not be swayed by the listed top note. While chili & Co. may contribute to the explosive beginning, giving the lemon a kick, the carousel quickly slows down and transforms into a creamy summer scent, one that has been seen many times before. Nevertheless, it retains a meaty foundation and the fragrance has considerably more substance than other fresheners. I am all for curves - even in the world of scents ;)
With its human-like, slightly skin-like base, this Carrousel can keep me captivated for a long time. Lemon, rose & fluffy musk-vanilla, that’s how one could break it down. Yet individual nuances prevent the scent from becoming boring. It remains a children's carousel or a beginner-friendly summer fragrance, but it is by no means interchangeable or generic. It definitely has character, yet completely without being abrasive. Paul Emilien creates feminine feel-good fragrances, perfect for relaxing, unwinding & with positive karma. You simply can't really hate it, and overall "Carrousel" is far from being a bad scent. Solid summer fare, with which you can't go wrong. Good to know.
Bottle: Fairy tale forest meets anti-dullness.
Sillage: a little something on the hips - agile & quick on the go, close to the body.
Longevity: it hardly lasts more than 4 hours.
Conclusion: a creamy lemon with a kick - at least at the beginning. After that, the carousel actually spins like every summer... still very soothing, pleasant, and likable.
