Successful Gardenia!
Gardenia is (just like Tuberose, Jasmine, and Iris) not an easy fragrance note for me. Among my absolute favorite perfumes, as far as I know, there isn't one with a pronounced gardenia note. Unfortunately, I do not know the scent of the natural flower in its original form, so all my scent experiences come from various perfumes.
Apparently, in its pure form, gardenia is a rather light floral scent with only moderately pronounced longevity. In some perfumes (e.g., the gardenia perfume by E. Taylor), the gardenia unfortunately comes across as somewhat synthetic. Oddly enough, I actually like the gardenia soliflore by Y. Rocher the best.
However, this fragrance note is often combined with other white flowers, such as Jasmine, Tuberose, or Orange Blossom - which usually leads to rather lush, sometimes even slightly cloying perfumes that remind one of an evening in the tropics.
Here, on the other hand, the balance has been achieved very well! Despite the combination with Jasmine and Orange Blossom, the gardenia is not overly overshadowed by other notes. "Gardenia Tropical" is, in my opinion, not a floral-fresh lightweight, but rather an intense floral scent that is not cloyingly sweet or heavy.
It fits well for spring and summer, but is more suitable for evenings or going out, less for everyday and work.
