Tobacco Vanille's hippie twin
Lovely new packaging of Tobacco Vanille, apparently... jokes aside, the similarity between the two is terribly clear and strong. If you aren't familiar with either of the two: sweetish spiced tobacco. The only – and frankly negligible – differences I notice are that Tabac Rouge smells somehow more spicy, more Oriental, a bit more dry and with a bit more tonka and beeswax. More sweet too, slightly fruitier. And most of all, with an overall slightly more “natural” evolution. Tobacco Vanille is really “monolithic” and heavily linear, built to assure you a full night of underwear garments dropping at your passage; while Tabac Rouge smells like its hippie twin brother, with some more shades and nuances that come and go, and an evolution making it drier, nuttier and darker as hours pass. But you have really to sit down and do a thorough side by side comparison to get all these differences; other than that, Tabac Rouge is just a solid, perfectly well-made and most of all, way cheaper alternative to Tobacco Vanille.

The Bee's Knees
The honey starring in Tabac Rouge is clear, pale gold and runny, drizzling easily from the spoon. Honey as it mixes into lemon tea; honey without the stickiness. A very well blended ginger gives a little kick that keeps everything fresh and open.
I love this fragrance! Resting just on the feminine side of unisex, the tobacco is both friendly and pure. My overall impression is of sunlight, transparency and good health... you could easily wear this in springtime and not feel weighed down by it. Nor is it powdery as the notes may suggest: again I am reminded of lemon tea spiced with cinnamon and ginger, sweetened with honey, tobacco freshly crushed alongside.
This is a politely happy scent. A healing scent.

my love
This is a perfume bottle that belongs to the top of tobacco scents. Combining cinnamon and medicinal herbs, honey to create a strong aroma of tobacco. The scent is extremely pleasant and quite relaxing. Radiation is also extremely good, sticking to my skin for over 12 hours and emits strong scent within the first 5.6 hours. A cigarette should be made for tobacco lovers.

Better version of Tobacco Vanille
For me, this is a better version of Tobacco Vanille. If Tom Ford's composition is too sweet, too thick and too heavy for someone, then Phaedon's proposal is the perfect solution. Of course, the similarity is huge and you need a bit of practice to catch the differences, because at first impression the scents may seem almost the same. However, there are nuances that make me choose the Phaedon version when I run out of Tobacco Vanille.
Tabac Rouge is less sweet and therefore seems more masculine. It is also more spacious, not as heavy, musk adds a lot of air and powdery notes lightness at a later stage.
One cannot fail to mention the presence of honey. From the very beginning, you can feel that the notes of tobacco, spices and dried fruits are well surrounded by a sticky, thick honey sweetness, to which the balsamic benzoin eventually adds. Despite this, these are not overly heavy or overpowering perfumes with sweetness.
I also like that the clove is more tempered here and does not overwhelm other notes, as is often the case in this type of holiday compositions.
Tabac Rouge is not an original scent, it can be safely called a secondary composition, but the high quality of the ingredients, the emphasis on slightly different nuances, and exemplary parameters and at the same time the price much lower than Tobacco Vanille make it an excellent alternative to Ford. It is worth it, especially since the price is less scary. Beautiful perfumes.

Yes! Yes... No.
Tabac Rouge starts off strong with a gorgeous pipe tobacco scent sweetened with honey and balanced by cinnamon. It is an exact match for the smell of the wonderfully kind gentleman who was like a grandfather to me when I was a child and always had a pouch of tobacco in his pocket for his pipe. This scent evolves in the first two hours, with the tobacco gradually fading into the background as the honey becomes more prominent and something powdery starts to emerge. After two to three hours the tobacco has gone and what is left is a sickly sweet Playdoh skin scent. The good thing is that the projection has simmered down to a skin scent by this time, but the smell is unpleasant enough that I want to wash it off. If it weren't for the dry down I would buy a bottle of this. Unfortunate, but there are other beautiful sweet tobacco options out there.

Pretty sweet and feminine for me. It's like a young cheerful version of Tom Ford's. Under 32 years of age.

I love how Tabac Rouge develops and the honey becomes a bit animalic. Not too sweet, just perfectly delicious.
