When the fragrance fails to meet your expectations..
In search of a good alternative to Gaultier Fleur du Male, my joy in finally owning it was hindered by high expectations. Sometimes it goes like that! :D
The scent is very nice and has great longevity. The "soapy" component completely captures the DNA of Fleur du Male. A good high-quality fragrance of its own.
What I love about du Male and now miss is that stunning burst of white flowers at the start and the enveloping mist of petitgrain and neroli that you can trail behind you like a veil.
It's not listed in Pure Azure, so it’s not included! Logical!! The Parfumo rating as similar, combined with the reviews, made my desire grow so large that Pure Azure, due to self-created disappointment, had no real chance with me. The notes that make it similar are not the ones I love in Fleur du Male.
Let’s be clear, SIMILAR will NEVER be the same, my nose judges unfairly, doesn’t fall into the same wish trap as I do, and I hope to learn from this! :D
..
But I will still try the Shooting Stars - Oesel! Although again, nothing of what I like is included.. *Cough* ;)

A true aphrodisiac - my love!
"Pure Azure" is a real treasure. A charmer. A scent that I love above all (I simply adore this scent!), even though I don't wear it very often. Because this is the fragrance for special occasions.

An intimate scent, a fragrance for (very) tender moments for two, desirable, a true aphrodisiac in my eyes - at least that's how it affects me, and it seems to be very loved by the male side as well.

Soft, almost a bit milky, incredibly warm, seductively sweet with a subtle bitter note - jasmine, orange blossom, tonka, and much, much more.

The scent most reminds me of the smell of willow or aspen bark in spring, when you peel off the bark or nibble on it a bit (which I occasionally did as a child, because of the aromatic, herb-sweet taste-smell)

or also somewhat like the smell of willow bark tea, which my grandma made for coughs (By the way, the willow bark tea had the same color as the substance of the perfume, namely red! So when I first tested it, I actually suspected finding something in this direction among the perfume components)

Yes, the fragrance pyramid is not unusual, but the scent is simply unique in my eyes and does not come across as synthetic at all, rather very natural. (The H&S are quite alright, by the way! So very good, and the sillage is not overwhelming)

Azure blue sky, sunshine, zest for life, the spring of life and the spring of love and desire - these are the images that this perfume evokes in me.

I must confess: I am continually captivated by it. I simply love it.

Pack your swimsuit
... take your little sister
And then off we go to Wannsee
Yes, we cycle like the wind through Grunewald swiftly
And soon we will be at Wannsee
Hey, we splash around in the water like little fish, that's nice
And only your little sister, no, she doesn't dare to go in
Pack your swimsuit, take your little sister
Because we have to be home by eight!!!
.
Wow, what a "bomb"! But really summer feeling, beach feeling, air mattress, beach mat, flip-flops, sun umbrella, beach ball aaaaaah..... and, and, and.
Pure Azure smells like all of the above and more! A smile on the face and anticipation for summer. Yes!!!!
.
But to be honest ---> It IS a BOMB! But a fun, really solid "cannonball".
And definitely not for the "delicate". What Leimbacher writes is true, you need real courage to wear it. Not like an "Alien" ... no, that's almost harmless in comparison ;-)
.
My scent impressions are as follows: Orange blossom is not really very dominant for me. Rather the jasmine. Radiant, lush, white, and full of flowers that hang heavily from the branches. They hang so low that with every gust of wind, they easily dip into the bucket full of vanilla that stands on the ground. In and out, in and out. Spices are present, yes. I could suspect cinnamon, but not sweetened, rather pure cinnamon, anise, cardamom, basil, thyme. I could be mistaken there. Hence the Mediterranean and "fresh", invigorating aspect of this fragrance.
And the salty note is what emphasizes the summer feeling. A tonka bean or two, like salted almonds, possibly crushed in a mortar and sprinkled over the jasmine.
And ALL of that together is so intense and present, so - I would even say - expansive, that it couldn't possibly get any better! A powerhouse of the highest quality *laughs*. Not sweet, rather heavy powdery, dry with floral scent and spices.
You can dose this fragrance discreetly, meaning 1 spray is completely sufficient!!!, and have a gentle summer feeling when you go to the city for a stroll or walk. AND you can also apply it generously to stand out and take everything by storm!
In the Parfumo picture, the color of the fragrance is transparent, but normally the liquid is red.
Powerhouse - absolutely!

Orange Blossom Paradise
Whoever thought Fleur de Male was the ultimate masculine orange blossom perfume will be pleasantly surprised by this fantastic new Phaedon fragrance. While both are similar, FdM only has the bottle, the price, and the fact that it came first in its favor. Pure Azure elevates the whole theme to a completely new level of quality. Strength, density, complexity, quality - Phaedon excels!

Who would have thought that a fragrance with a clear fig note would appeal to me so much? In the top note, which also defines the entire fragrance, one of my favorite notes, orange blossom, battles against an airy fig that I often can't stand. The blossom clearly wins and is the heart of the fragrance, but the scent cannot do without the fig. It doesn't have to, because this interplay of airy blossoms, ozonic Mediterranean air, and an avenue of fig trees on the Côte D'Azure is so impressive and valuable. A summer fragrance that is both light and heavy at the same time. And unlike most coconut or banana scents, it never loses this balance, never becomes sticky or heavy. Not even at the end, where the fragrance becomes powdery and sweeter, with a salty tonka bean. Salty tonka bean? You heard right, a knockout even at the end. As if it wasn't already clear that we are near the sea, now sea salt is added. An incredible twist and combination that works. Something like Sel de Vetiver but for orange blossom.

Bottle: thick, dark glass, but quite dull,
Sillage: orange blossoms with a lot of courage, summer feeling & eggs!
Longevity: 10-12 hours - wow!

For summer, it's quite bold - but nothing ventured, nothing gained! And Phaedon wins pretty much everything in the orange blossom championship!

At a low dosage, the jasmine/orange blossom combo is charming. With one spray too many, the flies fall off the wall!

Creamy amber orange blossom like in APOM/Fleur du Mâle, but with a sandy-dry counterpoint. Sunscreen, sand, salt. Beautiful :)

A powerhouse flower between orange blossom and jasmine, with just enough salt and spice to suggest sun-warmed skin. (Unfortunately) also very sweet.

At first a bit strict (O-flower), vanilla and tonka do the scent good, it becomes soft and warm. Not too sweet for me.

Sweet floral scent, primarily jasmine, so intense that it almost feels thick.
