LOVE!

I LOVE this! The elemi resin right up top is gorgeous and morphs into a marine dream when blended ocean brine and bitter cucumber. Elemi resin is hands down one of my favorite notes and it’s executed beautifully here

“Oyster” is the most unisex of the 4 I’ve tried so far. Despite that ‘straight down the middle’ quality, this feels like a naiad to me: a fresh water, feminine spirit: elemental, otherworldly and born from the natural world.

I’d *really* like a bottle for next summer. I’d wear it all the time in the heat. I do think there’s a curious and aquatic component that could maybe work in the dead-cold winter too. Adding to the wishlist either way.

Everything I Wanted

A newbie to the world of fragrance, I found the scents I tried in Sephora and Department stores kind of same-y. Over-powering with strong silage and never passed the smell test with nasal-y impaired BF.

I wanted to smell like a day at the lake, I want my skin but better and I got it with Poesie's OYSTER! The soft florals of the angelica paired with cucumber, citrus and the inexplicable aroma of musk make for a subtle yet complex scent on my skin. I simply can't get enough of it!

While some report a fish-y scent, I get NONE of that; and, TRUST ME. this is from someone who gags at the smell of seafood in general. I can't eat any of it - shellfish, squid, tuna, crab, seaweed - all of it is NOT for my palate. So I'm surprised I love something so much with that namesake and that's reported to have a strong seafood smell.

That being said, this perfume is not for everyone. There is ZERO sweetness to this and with gourmand scents super popular this may be a disappointment.

Sniffing it on my wrist, it smells of damp, fresh greens, with a hint of herbal spice and something a little animal (resin, grey musk)?

My only complaint - it just simply doesn't last long enough! But, what good things do?

Certainly Lives Up to It's Name

Well, I must say...it definitely is exactly what I did NOT want LOL! It's just...bad. It smells musty and kind of like...an oyster? If you want to smell strangely like a moldy book, I guess this is your fragrance you've been dying to try!

I don't know what I was expecting but it definitely was not to be ACTUALLY transported to a Florida fish market in Key West. But if you miss that good old moldy fish smell, you'll love Oyster.
