The Threat of Drowing in Mud
This fragrance is inspired by the year without summer, 1816, when Mary Shelly was stuck indoors with Lord Byron and wrote the book Frankenstein to help pass the time. Its supposed to be Lake Geneva with a storm rolling in. This definitely feels a little bit like horror. As if you were standing in the mud around a lake and you don't notice you are slowly sinking in until its too late. This is a dark wet earthy smell reminiscent of lakes. Its not a stagnate lake but it a little bit smelly because of the rich mud made from decomposing leaves and other organics. Its combined with an aromatic herbal and balsamic rosemary. This doesn't lighten the fragrance, its still heavy and dark. Slowly it does become less green and balsamic and more vanilla. But the threat of sinking into the mud and never to be seen again, always lurks in the background of this fragrance.
This fragrance did last a while on my skin, about 5 hours. The herbal elements are aromatic but not by much, I would say this is mostly a skin scent. There are several options available: oil perfume, eau de parfum, and water perfume. It looks like everything but the oil perfume is out of stock. There are currently two sizes available starting at $26.50 for the 5ml oil dropper and $49 for the 10ml oil dropper. This isn't exactly a mass appealing fragrance, so definitely buy a sample before committing to a bottle.
