So many scents it's hard to describe if you have a scent memory attached to them and this fragrance is definitely in that category.
I went to a lot of museums and temples in Japan and this perfectly captures the smell of very old wood, metal, and bone with a bit of dampness and gunpowder. My friend who smelled it had a completely different take but for me I was right back in Matsumoto Castle, walking barefoot on the wooden floors.
