Perfection

If I could choose only one fragrance to use for the rest of my life, it would be this one. It's simple and direct- just steamed rice. However, something about it just does it for me. Every time I smell it, it simultaneously comforts and calms me. It's one of the few rice scents I own that leans more savory than sweet. I can't get enough.

The quintessential rice fragrance

I stumbled into a mild obsession with rice fragrances after adding l'eau Papier to my Diptique order on a whim & falling in love with it. Since then, I've spent countless hours digging into reviews of fragrances with rice notes on parfumo, YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit. I'm so thankful that I did because I found Poesie Soft, which is I think my favorite fragrance of all time.

The rice note is immediately identifiable, somehow it is warm and savory, while at the same time there is a hint of sweetness. The sweet note is soft and creamy - it reminds me of rice milk, and to me the sweetness slowly becomes the prominent aspect of the fragrance. This sits close to the skin and each time I take a deep inhale to smell it strongly the savory aspect of the rice steps forward again.

I have also enjoyed trying different layering combinations with this, but it is absolutely divine on it's own. Also, it's the best bedtime fragrance period.
