Flowerwater Overdrive
Actually, I had imagined Luxury Overdose to be an ultimate fragrance. A creation in an extremely stylish bottle, which truly indulges in luxury and embodies the finest ingredients - united in an aura of absolute perfection, rich in sensual impressions and feelings of happiness.
That may be the case, but apparently, I am not the right target audience here. Of course, I enjoy luxurious and high-quality scents - but with Luxury Overdose, there is initially an opulent start with heavy sweet-oriental notes that actually make you crave more. However, it quickly becomes floral, or rather, a green jasmine-like overtone emerges that strongly reminds me of flower water. Perhaps the combination with Ylang Ylang is a bit too much of a good thing, as everything else, even something as distinctive as orange blossom, is mostly overshadowed for me.
Only very, very late, when the fragrance gradually fades and the personal disruptive factor disappears for me, does the seductive base make an appearance. Here, sparingly used patchouli, a bit of sandalwood, gentle amber, a hint of musk, a pinch of authentic vanilla, and some shards of cashmere wood come together for a dark, mysterious rendezvous. Absolutely subtle, yet simply dreamy.
However, on the test day, I had no motivation whatsoever to spray again, as I did not want to be confronted with this floral broadside again or venture out among people with it. On paper, however, Luxury Overdrive strangely comes across as a bit smoother, but I think it is more likely that women would warm up to it than men.
