The "Summery"
Estivalia is a combination of two words: estival = summery and colonia = Cologne water. And although I like the name, Lavandulia would have suited better.

Estivalia is dominated by lavender; yes, I would even say by fields of lavender. Here, green herbal notes and lemon have not been combined for refreshment, as in Agua de Colonia Concentrada by Alvarez Gómez, but here lavender is clearly the dominant and guiding plant.

In the opening, I am already greeted by a sea of lavender flowers, later the aromatic, softly green leaves of lavender join in and provide the lavender flowers with a sun-soaked platform to fully develop their scent. The very slight sweetness of the lavender flowers, however, remains intact.

In the base, lavender wood also belongs to the composition, but not alone. I believe it is musk that softens the woody character.

Estivalia is an extraordinary lavender scent, without any mustiness that lavender scents sometimes unfortunately exhibit. I feel as if I am standing in the middle of a kilometer-wide lavender field. Every few hundred meters, there is a tree, but otherwise only lavender as far as the eye can see.

Nevertheless, I am sure that a little citrus notes have been incorporated to maintain the freshness of the scent for hours. The fragrance envelops its wearer in a lovely cloud and lasts for several hours.

Estivalia is a scent with a very high recognition value. On my husband, it smells divine and I can immediately tell when he is wearing the "Summery".

Once again, many thanks to Chanelle, who made this unique scent possible for me.

Recently, in the Pyrenees
Estivalia reminds me of a drive into the blue from La Escala, Spain, to Andorra.
It starts citrus-fresh, just like we were when we got into the battered rental car without a GPS and without a map, and slightly floral. We felt a bit queasy.
Then we drove through fields of rapeseed and lavender, and realized that our liter bottle of Fanta, which was supposed to last for the round trip, was first lukewarm, and second almost empty, and it was getting hotter and hotter.....Fortunately, the lavender breeze that wafted in through the car windows refreshed us a little. Estivalia also becomes fresher and more lavender-like over time.
After we passed Puigcerda, at the foot of the Pyrenees, the outside temperature had reached an estimated 45 degrees and the newly purchased 1-liter bottles of cola were already history.
My girlfriend and driver of the car said nonchalantly: "The steering wheel already has a crust of salt." And Estivalia also has something of the salty breeze that sweeps over the mountains near the sea.
Only the base of Estivalia is more beautiful than the conclusion of our drive; fresh-woody, it cushions the invigorating, summery lavender scent.
Neither of us was fresh anymore after 6 hours of driving when we reached Andorra.
And I will tell you about the return trip another time, under the title "Dead Cow at 3 AM."

Sea Breeze
I have known this scent forever from Spain. A real picker-upper on super hot summer days. Lavender-like, spicy, but not too much. You should have it in your handbag during summer and use it generously.

Puig's Estivalia, an aquatic without the aquatic. Summer freshness. Carefree.
Spanish colognes are usually a safe bet.

Smells like my favorite summer woman by the Mediterranean. Lightly chypre like before, but I've been out of school for a while now...

A slightly soapy and fresh-herbaceous floral scent, where jasmine clearly stands out for my nose. A typical 70s fragrance.

A surprise bag for grown-up girls. It's a shame the scent was discontinued. Warm flowers and herbal-woody greens. Lovely!

Lavender field scent, citrus-herbaceous, a refreshment for any occasion, any season, and absolutely unisex, a true classic.
