solid personality in a bottle.
Agua Brava is not a crowd-pleaser, neither for a faint heart; this is pure dark deep herbal-mossy and dry woody chypre cologne that projects maturity and sophistication, for those that love and understand good quality in a fragrance without fancy ribbons and delicate pink boxes, Agua Brava is a pure manly cologne to the last drop; you cannot get more "macho" than this, and yet it's a refined fragrance that has pedigree and status, it brings you the aroma of the mediterranean sea, with the scent of a pine forest, rocks covered with moss and that dry woody chypre note that gives an enchanting-solid image to this awesome cologne.
Young boys cannot have the appreciation for this type of colognes, thinking that they are for "old men" that want to smell ancient and rustic; but Agua Brava is simply a "real men's cologne" that keeps the spirit and style of "the alpha male"; it's harsh and bold, with strong character and solid rock personality and yet despite its age, still going strong otherwise Antonio Puig house wouldn't carry on producing this magnificent fragrance.

Citrus blast from the past
Agua Brava by Antonio Puig in modern formula brings from the opening a citrus and aromatic herb bouquet, extremely fresh and as if you smelled fresh, wet herbs and juicy lemon. Dries down to dry aromatic woods. Its clove and patchouli notes seem faint to me, and its leather note just adds to the overall wood sensation and depth it possesses. Has a fair longevity, some 5 hours with some good 6 sprays or such. I advice on getting the 200ml bottle even thou it's a splash on, and just pour the fragrance into a smaller atomizer, and carry it around. Good for spring, summer, very fresh and dries to that chypre character. IMO get this instead of modern day compliment pullers, smell different to the bubblegummy - synthetic - whiskied hazelnut accords of today. Requires a bit of dressing - up (Flannel, denim, leather, a button up shirt, polished leather dress shoes or fully formal dressed)

Bottom line: Smells vintage, yes, but learn to love it and you can pull it off no problem. Price is ridiculous, i paid 18 USD for the 200ml bottle. On summer and spring smells great, a good powerhouse type - scent for warm and hot months, can be used either casual or formal, any age. On colder climates i would prefer its heavier brother, Quorum, since it is deeper, smokier, has a good dose of moss, tobacco, leather, musks. Both those frags can grant full coverage all year 'round for around 30 USD for both and smell amazing and well different than any perfume of today. If you are young, i'd advice having a bottle even thou you don't use it. Yet.
Maybe you'll be like me and a day when you will dislike modern stuff will come, and the green moss bottle with even greener juice will be waiting in your drawer. Greetings

As Green As the Bottle
I love Agua Brava. It starts with a crisp and herbaceous lemony opening that settles down to a cool pine scent. Not like a Christmas tree, and not like Polo with the tobacco. It is also crisper and less herbacous than Pino Silvestre. No heaviness to this one at all....just a beautiful coniferous clean.

Laating power is about 4 hours on my skin, pretty good for a cologne rather than EDT. Can be had for very reasonable online.

Fresh Pine!
If were going to consider all of what i read about Agua Brava i would never buy it.

Certainly this is another "classic" or/and "old school" kind of fragrance. And that's the reason i do like it.

Opens with a nice sage and lemon notes that remains for a while. The pine note joins in the middle and remains untill it fades out.

A woody note mixed with vetiver gives a little depth in the drydown. The accords are very smooth here, nothing extreme neither ethereal.

Cheap yet great, this is a wonderful fragrance with a nice clean/soapy vibe. Reminds me a little of Guerlain Vetiver Extreme in the late drydown.

Sillage, projection and lasting power are great considering this is an EDC.

A foresty green classic
This is a Mediterranean herbaceous piney foresty fragrance that is unfortunately short lived, however it's great for serious collectors like me. Lol. Actually this is my favorite type of fragrance, which lies in the green barbershop fougere realm. This is definitely a cologne that fit perfectly for the era in which it was launched, which I believe was 1968. A sinfully beautiful green refreshing scent that I wish lasted longer than the 2 or maybe 3 hours it gives you. Antonio Puig built this one but this is no Quorum in terms of performance. Use it after you shower and splash it all over LIBERALLY! You won't break the bank when you purchase it so I guess that's a plus. It reminds me of the beautiful but underrated Acqua di Selva, which was my very first Cologne. A unique and very masculine dry herbal product that must be almost constantly reapplied which gets annoying after a while so maybe it's not as cheap as I thought because you'll go through it pretty quick.
Whatever Agua Brava's shortcomings are this is still a fine Cologne. An Eau de Cologne in every sense of the word.

To my nose this also reminds me of Pino Silvestre (1955) and Silvestre EDC by Victor (1946).. It's more complex and richer with a better drydown Very bright with sunny citruses and pine with herbs and sweet cloves on a leather Oakmoss based. Perfect for a hot summer day so splash Splash SPLASH it all over... And out. :)

Fresh citrus and lavender opening. The heart is green, with pine and bay leaf. In the base there is vetiver and a very manly musk.

Lovely lavender top and mossy base, but the bay leaf heart is too pungent to my nose, dominating the fragrance and spoiling it for me.

A hefty dose of clove, ingeniously mixed with lavender and coniferous materials - smells like a Spanish gentleman.

Summer/spring scent that mainly smells like pine.
Interesting, but it smells dated as hell. For old people.
