Something really different for the man

I was simply tired of these classic, fresh and tart men's fragrances! Always the same from all the brands and always this classic masculine "harshness" in the fragrances. That's why I've always liked women's fragrances, because they are often much more complex, sophisticated and harmonious. Now I have finally found my favorite in the men's range and that is this fragrance here. I love this sweet and slightly oriental opening with the vanilla and iced orange blossom. It also stays in this fragrance pattern with a long lasting effect, later joined by a pleasant spiciness. It also retains a certain freshness, but is rather restrained and yet still present. A perfect composition for me! And the bottle is a real eye-catcher. I own the refillable 150ml.

Fresh but deep

At first, I wasn't a big fan of the Phantom series. I already knew the other two and didn't really like them.
So I approached Phantom Intense with a corresponding bias....only to be proven wrong.

I smelled it for the first time in the local drugstore, the only place where I can really test perfumes.
As I said, I was surprised.
Fresh, but not superficial. Not the classic fresh men's designer fragrance. No, something new. (Not a non-scent either, of course)

I actually quite like it and occasionally wear it to go out...in the evening.
I wouldn't recommend it for the rest of the day.
although it has a certain depth, it is still more of a fresh and only slightly spicy fragrance that fades quickly.
It's great for going out to dinner with your partner, but as soon as you get home, the fragrance is almost gone.

It reminds me less of a Parisian night and more of a summer night in New York.
The evening begins and with it everyone's individual peace and quiet, but outside the crowd is raging.
After work, you sit in the bar and relax, but outside is the typical city chaos.

I would love to experience this, but have never been to NYC.
But if it were me, as a perfume lover, I would rather take a different, more sophisticated fragrance with me to the city that never sleeps.

I also notice the synthetics strongly. Normally, I tend to stay away from fragrances like this, but this one has really smuggled itself into my heart.

It lasts about 5 hours on my skin, the silage is moderate.
A top fragrance for the price, even if I rarely wear it.
A super designer with finally a new and imaginative character.

Steps in the right direction

In my opinion, the original Phantom is by far the worst of Paco Rabanne's club fragrances. Nonetheless, the little hässlon must be selling pretty well, otherwise it's hard to explain why it's already being given its second flanker.
Phantom Intense is a little less light than the EdT, a little spicier and a little less synthetic. Otherwise it is the same. It also loses its synthetics as it progresses and therefore becomes even better. It is still a club and party fragrance, but this one is also conceivable for dates.
The basic DNA remains the same, however, and I can do very little with it. The start is still unpleasantly synthetic and the rest is nice but nothing special. Then I'd prefer Invictus Eau de Toilette or 1 Million Eau de Toilette.

As expected (EdP), the sillage is good, but diminishes a little too early for me after around 2 hours, but still remains noticeable. Only after 3½ hours does it go steeply downhill. 7 hours after spraying it on, the only thing that remains is close to the skin.
The toy bottle is still ugly as hell, but the color gradient makes it slightly better than the EdT.

In the bar with a..

... glass of rum with a slice of orange and talk to a colleague about today. We've both taken off our ties and undone the top buttons of our shirts. The barman has set us a small plate of lemon cookies with a vanilla glaze, which taste delicious. Here we end the day in peace and quiet and talk about God and the world.
When you apply this fragrance, the first thing you notice is a sweet chestnut, even though this is not in the fragrance pyramid. This is quickly followed by a citrusy spiciness, which is accompanied by a wonderful rum aroma. This then blends with the creamy vanilla accords and something woody is also mixed in. A few floral notes are also slightly hidden at the very back.
Longevity and silage are well perceptible on my skin for about 9 hours and on my clothes the next day.
This fragrance is not just for the young guys, but can also be worn by the young at heart. I wear this fragrance all year round except on really hot days. This fragrance can be worn in the office, if it is applied a little more discreetly, as well as in your free time or in the evening in a bar, club, etc. I can also imagine that one or two women would like it here.
If you like a creamy, sweet, nutty fragrance with a hint of alcohol, this is the one for you.

Finding the right balance!

I consistently ignored this range for a long time simply because of its laughable appearance. At some point, out of boredom, I sprayed on the original EDT - and indeed, this artificial, sweet phantom DNA immediately grabbed me. I now also like the robots...

Quite taken with the OG, I had hoped that the various flankers would do some fine-tuning - and that worked out too.

The Intense perfectly bridges the gap I was looking for. The basic DNA is there, but a little more natural, fresher and with a certain spiciness. Of course, you still have to like the core - this sweet fruitiness really appeals to me. Becomes less fruity and spicier over time, but retains its sweetness.

H/S are good - not overpowering, but definitely there, and you can perceive it well.

For me, the best of the series - it holds the original well, but sets the right accents. The Elixir, for example, goes far too much in the oud-wood direction for me at the end. This sweet phantom DNA similar to Invictus will always have a place in my collection.

Really?! No statements at all? This stuff is really good for what it is. Mass appealing but a little different designer. No one will say you smell bad
