Supernova is an astronomical term for a star that suddenly increases significantly in brightness because of a catastrophic explosion that ejects most of its mass.

Oh, là là! When I saw Replay Stone Supernova For Him online at a ridiculous bargain price, I did not think twice and ordered it instantly, blindly. I already had Replay Stone, which I like, and was ready for a flanker. But no, the two colognes are diverse, Supernova is a perfume that plays an eccentric fougère accord and stands out for its wealth of contrasts.
Amelioration and experimentation meet in a new bottle, inspired by the most iconic denim-washing techniques, the stone washing which, thanks to the mix of fabric, water, and stones, makes each jeans unique. Supernova is in the form of a pumice stone, the stonewash, opaque as volcanic stone, enriched with a tactile finish giving a palpable feeling.

Now the cologne. The opening is sturdy, and the blast combines notes that evoke strength and sweetness, legend and modernity, all at the same time. The sparkling fruity-citrus touches of bergamot and Granny Smith apple mix bravely with the aromatic lavender, refreshed by aquatic notes. Right of the bat, you are wrapped by a fougère accord that leaves nothing to the imagination, no question about it.

In ten minutes, the opening slowly quiets down, and the heart reveals a surprising alliance between the sensuality of the rose, the soft caress of the cashmere, and a new oak wood accord, which gives the fragrance virility. It is weird to see a mossy note in the middle because that is a strong fixative note habitually used in the base. And it is outstanding, notable, and striking, although of synthetic manufacturing.

The composition ends with a base note made of seductive vanillic tonka bean. Creamy sandalwood gives balance and softness to the scent, and cedarwood creates the persistent sillage, the lingering scented trail of this classy fragrance.

The harmonies of the whole scent make me reach for it during the middle seasons. It amuses the chilly fall and the warm days of springtime. Sillage and longevity are average, so it can be worn at work, or for meeting friends, or for an evening out. If you are questioning what Supernova smells like, I reckon it shares the same vibe as A&F Fierce.

One does not expect a good scent from Replay,
at most a spray of warm air.

But this thing gets a stone rolling,
this fresh chunk does not need trolling.

A blunt, masculine freshness,
a sporty vetiver, nice butter with the fish.

I really did not expect this,
I almost started a jubilant run.

A nice surprise like this is rare at DM,
you probably think I’m a bit loony with my rating.

But test it yourself, give yourself this stony beauty,
I’m not one to prettify every piece of junk.

No world-improver or classic in the Lord's eyes,
yet I truly enjoyed it today after sports without exception.

Like cold water on dark stones,
shortly after the lemons weep over them.

Even at the end, it kept its form,
in this price range, that’s certainly not the norm.

Replay has no better scents than these stones,
the competition gets scared and has heavy legs.

Vetiver, rose, aquatic lemon,
how could I have gone so long without?

Ice-cold and feels much more expensive than it is,
stands out, not just against its neighbors and trash.
